Saudi Arabia executed and crucified a Myanmar man in the holy city of Mecca on Wednesday in a rare form of punishment reserved for the most egregious crimes.

Elias Abulkalaam Jamaleddeen was accused of breaking into the home of a woman from Myanmar, firing a weapon in it then repeatedly stabbing her, which led to her death, the official Saudi Press Agency reported, citing an Interior Ministry statement. He was also accused of stealing weapons and trying to kill another man whose home he broke into, as well as attempting to rape a woman.

The ruling was supported by the country’s supreme court and endorsed by the king.

Crucifixions in Saudi Arabia entail hanging a body in public after an execution, and are unusual. A Yemeni man was crucified in 2010 for raping and killing a girl and shooting dead her father.

Not to offend any Saudi members here, but I'm glad that Riyadh took the initiative to cut relations with Canada. We don't need to deal with this kind of government.

The government of Saudi Arabia cannot accept criticism. If they want to make it hell for their neighbours or allies....they'll pull all measures. Hopefully the Canadian defence contracts also get delayed for the RSAF.

saudi arabia executed an iranian man for vomiting in front of the Kabbaa before 1979 . that's pure savagry

In ''The Ancient Sunni-Shiite Feud'' (Op-Ed, Aug. 5), Martin Kramer presents one side of the December 1943 incident in which an Iranian Shiite pilgrim was condemned by a Saudi Arabian magistrate and executed for defiling the area around the Kaaba, the sacred Moslem shrine in Mecca.

On the evidence of returning Iranian pilgrims, the Foreign Ministry in Teheran claimed in mid-January 1944 that the young man in question had been overcome by the heat while performing the ritual circumambulation of the monument, and had vomited into his robe rather than risk messing the courtyard of the Grand Mosque. Sunnis who observed his condition later that day accused him of smuggling excrement into the area to pollute it. The Saudi religious court acted on the evidence of these witnesses.

When the Iranian Government formally demanded reparations for the hasty execution and assurances such episodes would not be repeated, Saudi officials replied that the condemned man was the ringleader of a gang of Shiites intent on defiling the shrine. Teheran denied this further accusation and prevented Iranian nationals from participating in the pilgrimage to Mecca the following year, perhaps disingenuously blaming problems associated with wartime transportation.

There is no "crucifixion" in KSA lol.

What happens is that the body of the murderer/criminal is displayed in public for a few hours before being taken down to serve as a warning for potential criminals. This is reserved for specially heinous crimes and rarely occurs. First time in years this occurred.

The government of Saudi Arabia cannot accept criticism. If they want to make it hell for their neighbours or allies....they'll pull all measures. Hopefully the Canadian defence contracts also get delayed for the RSAF.

LOL, at your nonsense.

KSA could not care less about Canadian "defense contracts" when the Saudi Arabian military industry is booming and the goal by 2030 is to become 50% indigenous. Canada is a minimal trade partner and we don't need moral lessons from people who killed off (millions) most of the native population, invaded their lands, assimilated and neglected the few that remained etc.

The Arabized Arab-obsessed Afghan/Iranian troll creates a topic about the execution of a murderer, rapist and thief while his country executes many more people than KSA (much greater execution rate) and does it in public too and used to stone people in public a few years ago (something that has happened 2 times in KSA since 1945).

Made in Iran (where flogging and amputations are 1000 times more common than in KSA where amputations can be counted on 1 han since 1945 as well) which is why there is no such footage from KSA unlike regular executions.

Made in Iran.

Mass executions of political prisoners in Iran (1988) where up to 10.000 people were executed.

OBL (to hell with him and his likes) was half Yemeni and half Syrian and was stripped of his Saudi Arabian citizenship back in 1994. Try harder. Ironically OBL's relatives continue to live in Iran.

OBL's niece is half Arab and half Iranian.

You are not offending most Saudi Arabians who support the death penalty for murderers, rapists, intruders and chiefs like this Rohingya guest that killed one of his own abroad (KSA).

Rather than spending tax payers money on keeping such people alive for decades, we prefer to dispose of them, in particular if foreigners who disrespect our hospitality by committing heinous crimes in KSA which is otherwise one of the most crime-free countries on the planet with one of the lowest murder rates in the world.

Your entire country is crime-ridden and shootings occur weekly in Toronto alone and murderers . If you prefer to be a castrated eunuch, be my guest.

I bet it's an Iranian Arab  much like our serpentine here

According to the Afghan troll, everyone from Southern Iran and Western Iran is an Arab. Indeed, Southern and Western Iranians cluster closely with Arabs (Southern Iran being the ancestral homeland of Persians supposedly) but I am sorry to disappoint you but she is Iranian, Iranian. Not Iranian Arab.

Anyway you are either an Iranian or an Afghan (even worse).

In Afghanistan you have turned pedophilia into a cultural past time (bacha bazi) and people are stunned to death in public daylight regularly by masses. All it takes is rumors about some Qur'an being destroyed and people detonate. In Kabul (capital) in broad daylight.

Your people stone women escaping forced marriages on a monthly basis.

As for Iran, higher execution rates and worse track record (nowhere close) as well.

So not sure what you are doing here scoring own goals.

Let us use your own source (BLOOMBERG).

Meanwhile the cretin has this scene in his mind along with the 2 "Canadians" (doubt that they are Eskimos or Natives but rather Pakistanis or descendants of the people who killed off millions of locals and stole their land)

Excellent decision. Full marks to KSA for dealing with the beast in the most appropriate manner, I wish Pakistan also dealt with criminals in this way.

Indeed.

Are you female ?
i'm not an afghan , i was born in iran , doesn't matter where i come from i was born in central iran
Are you female ?

actually i was born in iran and spent my first year in melbourne australia , so you see i'm entirely not an afghan .

and being an afghan is no greater shame than being an arab (despite all the wealth you have) , in the eyes of the average white westerner of course . the opinion of few iranians here and there don't really matter .

Are you a female?

Every Iranian user says that you are an Afghan which you admitted to being on your previous users here as well.

So you were born in a desert since almost all of central Iran is covered with deserts.

I recall you claiming to being from Eastern Iran.

Who cares, Afghan or Iranian, you have no Arabian horse here other than scoring own goals, I am afraid.

Anyway I am pro death penalty for heinous crimes such as this one.

Or the latest one (back in 2010) were a Yemeni killed and raped a girl later to kill his own father.

I think that there is a huge difference. Geographically (Arab world is next door to Europe and a direct neighbor), culturally, linguistically, genetically, policy wise, influence wise, perception wise etc. Millions of Europeans have travelled to several Arab countries for holidays, know Arab cuisine, music, culture etc. while Afghanistan for them is nothing more than terror and a hellhole and Afghan refugees doing crime all over Europe and pretending to be Syrians. They have a bad reputation everywhere. In particular in Pakistan where they are mostly hated as reflected by users here too.

no i'm a male :)

i was wondering if you're the same female from ksa some years ago here .

being an afghan is not a shame , at least not in the eyes of the americans .

opinions of few iranian khuzestanis and torks here doesn't really matter .

Again you'd find the likes of pro-islam iranians are much worse for you , than me .

I am not aware of any Saudi Arabian female user on PDF. Only a Omani one.

Never said it was.

However Afghans have a tremendously bad reputation (same league as Somalians) almost everywhere and the Westerners that you mentioned have no exposure to this country other than negative associations and news. On the other hand Arabs and the Arab world in the imagination of Westerners is a diverse thing. Everything from palaces in Marrakech to ancient heritage sites from Yemen to Morocco, Pyramids, Petra, Babylon etc. to mention a few world famous ancient heritage sites, Dubai, wealth, modern architectural marvels (skyscrapers etc.) and then you have terrorism and wars as well.

Afghans? What else other than terrorism and negative news? Not much.

Can't be said about Arabs and Iranians for instance.

BTW I don't care what they have to say on this front as Europeans (aside from Romans and Greek who were heavily influenced by civilizations native to the Arab world, also influenced the ones in the Arab world) were irrelevant for most of human history until their dominance in the past 500 years (worldwide). And leading experts when it comes to brutal execution methods. Southern Europeans and Arabs cluster closely genetically.

Arab culture in countries like Spain is felt on every front (language, city names, architecture, cuisine, agriculture, genetic contribution, music, castles, forts, palaces, gardens etc.). Alhambra for instance speaks for itself. Over 10 World UNESCO Heritage sites in Spain were built or partially built by Arabs/Moors in Spain alone.

I am anti-Mullahism. Anti-religion playing a role in state rule. However that does not mean that I am a castrated eunuch that supports feminism on steroids, no punishments, cries when a murderer, rapist and chief gets executed etc.

You won't find me crying in threads if Iran executes some murderer, USA, China or anyone else for that matter. In fact I will applaud it if guilty.
