I think there is no thread about Saraiki music/songs on pdf even though there is a thread about Punjabi music/songs, so here we can share our favorite Saraiki songs/music etc. The good thing about Saraiki is that it is natively spoken in all the four provinces of Pakistan around South Punjab.

Many Saraiki songs are often mixed with punjabi or hindko, so people can also post mixed Saraiki/Punjabi/Hinkdo songs here. But please don't post any "pure Lahori type Punjabi" songs in this thread.

I start with this Saraiki song which sung by a Hindko singer, it looks to me Saraiki/Punjabi mixed kind of song but it is quite popular.

I am from Gujranwala and my native language is what is called "Punjabi" in popular culture and I can definitely tell you that Saraiki is NOT dialect of Punjabi, in fact according to me what is called "Punjabi" is more similar to Hindi/Urdu in its grammar than to Saraiki Grammar. The main overlap between Punjabi and Saraiki is that of vocabulary.

No it's Punjabi dialect seraiki is a political term for to make province
The type of Punjabi rokhri speaks is called thalochi due to thal desert spoken in Bhakkar muzafargarh Mianwali etc
In areas like Khanewal Sahiwal etc jhangochi is spoken in Multan multani is spoken which is similar to our dialect but few different words and little bit accent difference

No but when someone says "Saraiki" is a dialect of "Punjabi", that is also a "political statement" this simply means hey Saraikis or (others in Punjab), I (Lahori, Amrisari, Jalandhari, Faisalabadi) am your boss and you should know it that I am "superior" to you guys because what you speak are "distorted dialects" of my Lahori/Amritsari/Jalandhari language. Believe me I know the mindset of these people. That is why I always differentiate myself from these Lahori/Amritsari/Jalandhari type peoples and I consider my identity as Gujranwaliya and my language as "Gujranwala Punjabi" just like you will identify yourself as Jhangvi and your language as "Jhangavi Punjabi". These Lahori/Amritsari/Jalandhari champions of Punjabi language in Pakistan want to impose "indian punjabi" identity on us which we will NEVER EVER accept or let it happen.

Punjab is region where we live name given by outsiders no uneducated person who has never attended school calls his language Punjabi
Here people call it jatki boli
Like someone is saying
Uday vi sahn rangi eha jatki boli bolenday hain
And they have started calling southern side of Punjab as wasaib for those who don't know wasaib is Punjabi word for society when someone is saying sada wasaib it means our society

If anything "punjabi" become more and more like hindi/urdu as one move closer to Haryana which is logical. All these distinct languages in Pakistan punjab simply cannot be put under "punjabi" umbrella.

British linguistic surveyors put "Eastern Punjabi" (central lahori/Amritsari/Jalandhari one) in the same group as "hindi" (specifically the western hindi of haryana, rajasthan, western UP) because of the similarity of grammar and phonetics of these languages. Whereas they put Multani , derawali, riyasti, Jhangwi, Hindko, Pothohari in the separate macro-group which they named as "Lehnda" (or Western Punjabi) again due to the similarity of grammar and phonetics of these languages. They even considered Sindhi and Lehnda(Western Punjabi) as a closer relative of Dardic languages (particularly Kashmiri and Sheena languages) in some grammatical features as compared to central zone eastern punjabi/hindi languages or dialects.
