2nd song is my favourite song
Yes I listen all kinds of Pakistani Punjabi film songs particularly of Noor Jahan.
Language in these songs isn't like Lahori Punjabi right
in Lahore I used to think their language is Urdu but they are trying to speak Punjabi but can't speak and are speaking a mix of Punjabi and Urdu
Pakistani Punjabi movies in the past usually used "Gujranwala/Sheikhupura/Sialkot" rural language, that is why it is crude and sound totally different than typical "urban punjabi" of lahoris which is indeed highly mixed with Urdu. All the story plots of Old Punjabi "badmash movies" were from our Gujranwala region like Maula Jatt etc. Many of the actors in those movies also had roots from rural areas of Gujranwala and Sialkot.
Films from 60s were different I like only some films of actor Akmal like hath jori malangi and few others
and have watched a lot badmash films of Shaan or I think I've watched all of his badmashi films but never liked Sultan Rahi
I think the Lahore city punjabi has pure "urban" polite accent, Historic urban areas be it Lahore or Multan tend to have "polite and soft" accents. The historically rural areas like Gujranwala/Sheikhupura etc. have predominantly a crude harsh rural accent of Punjabi. Since most of the punjabi movies had stories revolving around village life and village characters so the language and accents used in those movies were also the rural accents of Gujranwala/Sheikhupura villages but still for movies they used to speak "slowly" so that larger public in Punjab can understand the language.
I don't think anyone from outside of Pakistan would be able to understand seraiki most of people from northern side of Punjab won't be able to understand pure seraiki songs
and making modern would destroy this music like coke studio
I really appreciate your insight into Punjab. I have been to Gujranwallah. Lovely people. Strong, robust men.I think the Lahore city punjabi has pure "urban" polite accent, Historic urban areas be it Lahore or Multan tend to have "polite and soft" accents. Should Punjabi be made a official language of Pakistan some politicians have suggested that
