Sanctioning Pakistan can backfire, US lawmakers warned

Sovereignty is a relative term. Handing over Saksgam Valley to China and letting US drones bomb your own people and territory is also a sovereignty. Its up to a nation to decide what legacy it wants to leave for its future generation.
let me teach you a little bit

China in Sikam is to contain the war elepFaaants in Dehli and it has done wonders both militarily and economically .. latest being CPEC which is causing annal pain to your collective mentality.

as for Drone strikes are concerned .. they are NOT against our own people.. our own people are evacuated and settled in Pakistan while our own army took on the terrorists in waziristan operations . American drones only complimented the WOT fight to which we are signatories. the US drones are not targeting our people but "your" people who your terrorist national security adviser very gleefully admits to have been funding.

Sanction means USA is alone in Afghanistan. The only reason USA is surviving and succeeded in the past against USSR because of Pakistan. Pakistan has options now; China/Russia/Turkey. USA has none.

The table has turned. USA needs Pakistan and Pakistan doesn't need USA anymore. In fact, in this article gave strong hint of USA being dependable on Pakistan even more, to the extent USA's exit plan is riding on Pakistan. :D
Sanctions mean that the silent support of Afghani Taliban will turn into a full blown ISI operation against the CIA and the CIA will feel the gates of hell open up, just like the USSR did.

.
Instead of trying to sanction and force Pakistan to act against haqqani network. The US government and policy makers should understand the root cause of why Pakistan is not interested in taking action against these groups. Last time during cold war when we helped you with conviction against Soviet Union in Afghan War. We were stabbed in the back when USA work was done (Soviet Union dis integrated).
So Pakistan concerns are genuine that what is the guarantee that USA will not back stab us again . So we want to be in the game . And have some leverage and control in Afghan politics

PPP is not a real term to scale GDP. Its matter but less. I'm talking about nominal GDP which is the real scale.

I didn't make the rules. Nominal or PPP, we could do a lot better.

Indians usually brag about the PPP scale because it makes them 3rd largest economy in the world.

No. We don't . may be school kids. We see us 7th largest as of now.

The thing is that currently the us Pakistan ties are low despite what the state department says and its not just due to america. Pakistan has been looking to break away from american influence. In fact the new foreign policy of look Asia is based upon the principle of shaking off western influence. Does this mean pakistan does not want greater relations? No it does not. It simply means that Pakistan is breaking free from american influence.

If you see the pakistan of now and the pakistan of 80s you will notice massive difference on american influence and recently we have been giving america the eye.

America, right now, has no idea how to recreate that influence to make pakistan dance on its tunes. It knows that F16 coalition fund footing failed, it knows talking won't work and it knows sanctions won't work and would only decrease the influence it does hold. America doesn't want that especially considering the situation in Afghanistan with the civil war and of course majority of their supplies coming through our lands.

Last time america placed us in sanctions we got more self involved and our economy didn't bust. This time our economy is more centralized towards Asia than before so american sanctions would not end our economy and america knows this. They don't want a repeat of the 90s.

I think all america would do is continue the rethoric of do more.

I got a question for these law makers. Why don't they do their job in Afghanistan better? Districts after districts fall and the ANA gifts the Taliban weapons yet you people don't intervene and only come to action with air strikes and commandoes when a provincial capital is about to fall. This joke has allowed 34% of Afghanistan to fall to the Taliban including the rich poppy fields of Helmand and urzugan. That's 1/3rd of a country.

How about you stop playing with peoples lives and stop playing games and actually do something constructive. Mullah mansour was the most pro peace leader you would find in the Taliban. This habitullah is basically a puppet run by the no peace commanders.

Thats how Pakistan thinks. Worldwide a political movement loses its global support if it resorts to violence/terror. A terror outfit can never be an asset for anyone. Remember Hillary Clinton saying that you cant breed snakes in your backyard and expect them to bite only the neighbours.
Indiots are now defending US, wow, who created Daesh and doing terrorism in Syria.

All part of a media war game.

The biggest terrorist financing epicenter in the region is India and for more than last half century.

At the moment India is required by US, therefore, she can not do anything wrong. Just wait for few years when the geopolitical realities in the world change a bit and you will see what happens then.

Obviously US is looking only after her own interests and we can not blame her. Pakistan should carry on the road of development and get rid of corrupt people in our society and make itself a strong economical hub.

You'll see how things are gonna change.

Turkey has shown it!

Harms are mostly intangibles as of now. You will realize if much later.
And with regards to R&AW agent can you tell me what was the reply of Iranian govt. to your complain and concerns?
See what pakistani media reported about Iran's reaction.
http://www.dawn.com/news/1249073

Whatever so called harm it will bring in the future is still no where comparable to the harm India can and is bringing through Afghanistan. Rest assured Pakistan isnt going to move against the Haqqanis at the whims and wishes of the US or that puppet regime in Kabul. Pakistan has its own interests to look at and we will protect them under all costs.

And please do not bring Iran every now and than into your argument. This has been discussed to death on other threads. The only reason i replied earlier was because you brought Iran into the discussion. It has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

We dont need to give explanation to the sponsor of Israli, isis and indian terrorism. We are independent country and we can do much better without them so big finger for them

Why Indian terrorist personnel are allowed to speak trash here.
