As an Indian minority, I have no issues or problems with this. Its a high time we actually do something constructive about our pathetic education state when it comes to history. We never took complete control of it. In fact, we allowed ourselves to follow a BS curriculum written by foreigners and those with hidden agendas that spewed anything but the facts.
Every powerful country that has risen, took full control of its historical narrative. Not doing so for all this time, has allowed us to become weak, lack of unity, no pride, etc. China and Japan are the clearest examples of this. We can never chart our moves into the future without knowing our history.
Do you realize how few ppl in India and abroad know we were once a Unified country under Ashoka? Many continue to believe the British were the first to unite India as a single entity. Saamoothiri, were two notable naval chiefs of the period. It doesn't have to be Hindu specific. We can talk about the Christian militiamen in Kerala who took to arms against Tipu. Or Muslims who fought with HIndus or for Independence. The key here is to be objective. Nothing but the facts.
So if saffronisation means learning about Shivaji and Maharana Pratap, then by all means plz do. Its about damn time, we learn the truth of India. The truth will set us free. It may be a bitter pill for some to swallow, but the only way you can ensure the past does not repeat itself it by learning the Truth in the first place. Food for thought.
