Interesting, breaking the fanboys hearts aside "no offense guys", the purchase of S-400 is more of a valued procurement than Rafale and I hope you and many would get the point.

It actually makes sense to buy SAM like S400 and am sure India will always ask for something extra off the table like more futuristic design which was not sold to China.

Even if one missile comes around 6-8 million against 80+ million advanced fighter jets.

If it's around 5 battalions,Then we along with 6000 missiles of the S400 missile system will be a game changer not just in Defence but in offensive operations. Let's say India had to carry out deep strike mission (for a change at Eastern border) we could easily deploy these systems Loser to border while sending our aircrafts on the mission.

Just imagine What Sukoi - Bramos, Rafale with Scalp missile along with S400 can do???.

Total superiority over our enemies. Sadly Chinese too have these capacity so MAD is assured!!! MUTUALLY ACCEPTED DISTRUCTION

S500 Prometheus

S 500 already under development. Many systems developed for S500 may be part of this deal with India. So in future S500 command center and more advanced missiles developed for S500 can be sold to India.

S500 missiles will have inert, kinetic kill warheads, and supposedly be capable of intercepting ballistic targets at 7 km/s.

Terra is a combination of Spectra and Ultra, and the system has been sold to countries abroad, as for whom, the source didn't say

In all probability the missiles under plan are 120km, 250km and 380 km+ one with integration of Akash/Barak8/Spyder/QRSAM/AA Guns for lower tier along with Tor/Pantsir Combo for CMs/CIWS and also integrating C22/C6 modules Israeli Radar into the whole system. The other missiles will be the HTK from Prometheus system ..

99% target is an airspace coverage upto 600 km+ range and max altitude of 185 km.

Reliance Defence and Tata will benefit a lot.

The key feature to look out and seek is still the number of command posts and the fact that 40N6 which has done this high altitude of 185 km and the HTK 77N6 series is fully passed on to us without any kind of restriction which in general seen in Russian arms Export variants.

In essence we will be able to then use the S450 MKI system for proper IRBM/ICBM class protection as well.

Terra-Spectra would be very costly. 10 of those may very well cost us 2-4 billions. They seem to be very capable systems though and should be looked into if funds are available.
