Really no need to put missiles and launchers on this machine it is just a 7-12 people transport Helicopter would work well to transport rangers troops across border or from inner cities etc

Twin Engines give it some reliability and looks like a nice stable platform

The role of Launching Missiles is with T-129 Gunship with more attacking role

The ANSAT I assume is better equipped for Transport role

Nice modern interior , reasonable for City based protection or along the border not really meant for engagement of fighter jets or other gunships

Good transport Unit

Would be great for Light Border Patrol duties or on remote areas

Doesn't really mean anything beyond that, Russia tested helicopters in Iran as well not long ago.

Looks like Russia has its eyes on replacing the Cheetah. @Oscar @messiach
sir do you think these days the planning mode of the armed forces is going lower then ever with all these random trials and purchases. we already use soo many types of helicopters why cant all the branches of armed forces including the para military and civilian government issue a bigger contract for light medium and heavy lift helicopters with some kind of TOT. Some time its just embarrassing and puzzling really makes you think these people are not thinking from there brains

There is more requirement of a transport heli than a gunship.

Do you have just one type of clothing for all seasons and all occasions?

please PA/PN/PAF just select a single light, medium and heavy platform, built under licence rather than shipping all over the world

Do you have just one type of clothing for all seasons and all occasions?
i dont but most countries do the same including china with z-9, usa with bell uh1 and india with cheetah
pakistan is more the exception rather than the norm

and i never knew we were as rich as arabs to wear different clothes/mschines for different occasions

i wear mostly t shirts, or scrubs thats pretty much it may be fleece jacket for winter
lol

I agree, but that would mean in the past it was more economical or why did the PAF, Army and civilian Wing buy the Italian Helicopter, that is out of my logic, sorry!
1-In large number Italian option would obviously cost more, then Russian
2-Augusta westland-139 and Ansat lightweight helicopter belong to different categories one is medium weight and the other is lightweight
3- Augustawestland AW-139 can have 15 passengers while the Ansat can have only 8

I meant slightly larger birds than this russian helo and aw139 etc to replace mi171 and cougar.

Mi17 will be here for a long time to come! Their production is not stopping nor is the nation's using them discarding them. Their utility is irreplaceable!

If this bird is for Pakistan................ only then .......... My guess is this is for our disaster management unit ........ They need helis for any emergency situation (right now they look towards Army) ....... And this light heli can do great (easily take light category)

Russian Helicopters test Ansat in Pakistan

The Russian Helicopters Holding Company (part of Rostec State Corporation) started testing multi-purpose Ansat helicopter in Pakistan. The objective of testing is to prove the ability to use the machine in high temperatures.

At the moment the helicopter has already started test flights. It is planned to expand Ansat's temperature regime to +50° Celsius. Thus, its temperature range will be from -45° to +50° Celsius.

"Ansat is a very attractive helicopter due to its flight performance characteristics, including for customers from Asia and the Middle East. We have planned several upgrades of the machine, including the extension of the temperature range. I hope that positive test results will turn the interest of potential buyers into a number of agreements", said the company's Deputy CEO for marketing and business development Alexander Shcherbinin.

It is planned to finish testing by mid-November. After this, a conference is scheduled in Islamabad for potential Pakistani customers to explore the helicopter's competitive advantages and specific features of operation.

Ansat is a light multipurpose twin-engine helicopter serial production of which is deployed at the Kazan helicopter plant. In May 2015, the modification of the helicopter with a medical module was certified. It It complies with all international standards for medical aviation and allows to save a patient’s life during transporting to a hospital. According to the helicopter certificate, its design allows converting it into a cargo version or into a passenger rotorcraft that can lift up to seven people.

The medevac Ansat has a number of competitive advantages over rivals in its class. First of all, it requires less operational, training and maintenance expenses. In addition, the helicopter has the biggest cockpit in its class and can maintain high speed, which allows to use it for long-range trips.
