I do undersand everything you write Capton. My question is why RC had to run if it was in international air space ???Just understand this: the RC-135 was in International air-space doing whatever it was doing, when the Russian aircraft was launched to "disturb" its operations; which it did by "buzzing" the American aircraft at very close quarters. The USAF aircraft as part of its evasive manuevers had to fly very close to Swedish air-space to avoid. That is where the likely infringement took place. Just take a look at the map of Scandinavia to see how many countries' air-spaces closely adjoin/abut each other, and why a large aircraft like the RC-135 will find it hard to manuever easily around all of them.
In any case; SIGINT aircraft do not need to enter some-body's airspace to "snoop". How do you think that the ARC aircraft do similar tasks?
If I am looking for war I would let Russians down my aircraft in interantional airspace !!! Evenif no war ......its a strong case to state that russians are offensive !!!!
RC running and breaching swidish airspace as the country said sounds fishy.
Sorry if I sound like newbee
