Russian Aerospace Giant UAC Offers Uber-Sophisticated MiG-35 At Aero India 2023

February 13, 2023

The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), Russia’s largest aerospace firm, is showcasing its latest offerings, including the advanced MiG-35 fighter jet, at the Aero India 2023 exposition at the Yelahanka Air Force Station in Bengaluru. The event marks UAC’s first international presence as a unified company following its merger with several leading design bureaus and plants in Russia.

Yuri Slyusar, Director General of UAC, emphasised the event’s significance for the company’s relationship with India, a long-standing partner and operator of much Russian equipment. “The Aero India exhibition provides a key regional platform to address issues of maintenance and delivery of new machines and maintain our relationships with partners,” Slyusar said.

UAC has prioritised developing a unified after-sales service system for Russian aviation equipment in the Indian market, a move seen as crucial in fostering strategic cooperation between Russia and India. The MiG-35, the flagship product on display at the united Russian exposition organised by Rosoboronexport, is a 4th++ generation fighter incorporating 5th-generation technologies. :coffee:

The MiG-35, which made its maiden flight in 2007, boasts versatility, a wide range of weaponry, the capability to operate in any climatic conditions, and decreased cost of operation. The aircraft is designed to engage various air and ground targets and offers close air combat in heavy countermeasures environments.

With a length of 19 meters, a wingspan of 15 meters, and a height of six meters, the MiG-35 Fulcrum-F Multirole Fighter has a loaded weight of 17,500 kilograms and a maximum take-off weight of 29,700 kilograms. The fighter has two Klimov RD-33MK after burning turbofans and a maximum speed of Mach 2.5 (2,400 km/h) at altitude.

The MiG-35 is equipped with a 30 mm GSh-30-1 cannon and a multitude of air-to-air missiles, air-to-surface missiles, guided bombs, and unguided bombs. Known for its super-manoeuvrability, the MiG-35 has a reputation for its ability to fly at supercritical angles of attack with a high turn-angle rate.

The offering of the MiG-35 at Aero India 2023 is seen as indicative of the strategic cooperation between Russia and India in the aviation sector. :-)

MOSCOW, RUSSIA
— It became known that in the coming years, the Russian Air Force will receive a large batch of modernized MiG-35 fighters. TASS, RIA Novosti, and other Russian media reported this. They quote the head of the United Aircraft Corporation, Mr. Yuri Slyusar.

The MiG-35 belongs to the latest modification of the multipurpose fighter generation 4++ and is an improved naval version of the MiG-29K/KUB aircraft. That is, this aircraft is ideal for the role of an aircraft carrier.

It is also worth noting that on the sidelines of the Aero India 2023 aerospace exhibition, as part of a tender for the supply of 114 light fighters to India, the UAC offered the Indian side to assemble fighters based on the MiG-35 aircraft at the Indian HAL plant. :coffee:

Earlier, Mr. Vladimir Drozhzhov, Deputy Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation of the Russian Federation, said that the UAC already expects India to open a tender for the supply of fighter jets to the Indian Air Force.

Perfect excuse for PAF to ask for F-16V to wipe the floor with em like it did with the Flankers and Bisons.

The geopolitical scenario is entirely different now, India won't buy Migs and Pakistan likely won't get advanced weapons from America. Pakistan is in Chinese camp which Americans detest, they are going as far as offering crucial tech to india and allowing their allies to do the same.
In the past America rejected sale of high tech weapons and forced their allies to not sell us weapons. Our whole BMD program was started cos America blocked sale of Israeli Archer 2 to us.

.
Old news. Besides mig-35 has been offered to India since 2009 for mmrca .

the above 2 posts are the news of February 2023. i have updated, check it.
the news of post#2, of February 2023, states about tender of 114 Mig35s, while working with HAL :-)

the post#2, news of February 2023, that the tender of 114 Mig35s are on offer with assembly line in HAL.

the number '36' Rafale won't be enough, which comes with very high price also. 114 Mig35s, would fulfill the numbers for MRCA which IAF looking for.

I also saw the news that Mig35s price has been reduced to $80mil, close to LCA MK1A price.
and with air superiority features in Mig35s, we may except it to cross Chinese-Pak border for operations in their territories. neither LCA Mk1A is that capable to win in air and cross border like SU30mki, nor we find Rafale will dare for risk. Rafale's "air to air" capability is lower than Mig35s or SU30mki. hence 36 Rafale would be limited for its operations within Indian territory like LCA Mk1A.....

also, we have news that IAF is currently operating more Mig35s than Rafale. 114 Mig35s, news of post#2, looks true. :-)

i have news that IAF is already operating few Mig35s, and currently its number is more than Rafale. the news of 114 Mig35s, news of post#2, looks true....

The Indian Air Force (IAF) is planning to buy 114 foreign fighter jets, of which 96 would be made in India, and the remaining ones would be imported from a foreign vendor, as per the latest reports.

EurAsian Times had recently notified, citing reports, that all fighter jets will be produced in India through a technology transfer from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to an Indian manufacturer. A global tender for the procurement of warplanes could be issued by the end of 2022. :-)

IAF’s acquisition of 114 fighter jets to be part of a major procurement plan

February 16, 2023

The delayed process for the procurement of 114 multi-role fighter jets (MRFA) is set to take off soon and along with three different indigenous fighter development programmes, will result in a mega 500-fighter aircraft acquisition process for the armed forces. This would arrest the dwindling fighter strength of the Indian Air Force and enable it reach the sanctioned strength of 42 squadrons.

What is that different geopolitical scenario? That China walked in and took 2000 sq km territory in Ladakh, and not a single word from any of India's so called partners? Even Indians themselves pretended to, and refused to, even look in that direction!

The only thing that has changed is the fact the USA has realized China cannot be faced alone. Anything the USA has, China has an answer for it, including the advanced USAF capabilities. The only edge the USA has had was the USN submarine fleet, but that too might not be a sure bet since China is not blind.

The USA does not call China a peer competitor for nothing!!

Just like the the "advanced Soviet/Russian jets" of the old, the clueless and incompetent Indians will begin crashing the latest jets as soon as they start getting them.
