The real question should be Why do India require Technology of a Smerch like MLRS from Russia ? Turkey did it in 90's, Pakistan is manufacturing own guided rockets, China has a vast of rockets in similar class. Serbia is producing similar products. Israel has own standarts but Thinking a country like India, producing manny different missile/rockets, where lacks behind of the level of technology many countries reached way before, make me surprize.

We have much stronger R & D compare to china. China coppied a lot from other countries which we didn't. That is why we could produce the weapon of our choice i.e what is exactly required by our armed forces.

These are not very high tech stuffs. We didn't do that because our politicians did not have any vision. else they should not be difficult at all for a country which can send its mission to Mars.

Did you quote Wikipedia lol .. Current range if your upgraded pinaka MBRL is around 55 km..

Mk 1 has range of 40 KM while Mk 2 has range of 65 KM.

In that case, we need to expedite the Pinaka Mk2 designed to hit targets 120 Km.

Good move. Thanks to Russia, our aggressive government will push for indigenization just like the M777 was replaced with Dhanush.

Dhanush is meant to replace old bofors guns and you cant replace M777, as it is not in our inventory.

I believe a cheaper alternative for M777 will be inducted.

What electronic gadget u r talking about...which Chinese r making..if u r a true entrepreneur then u might be knowing that all these so called electronics r manufactured by Samsung, LG, Intel, Qualcomm, Sony , ibm n other llike minded companies but not by.
