Surprised india cant produce a rocket like smerch by itself. India is a big country aspiring to be a regional and even world power, its not a small country. I still dont understand why it even have to beg Russia for tech transfer for Smerch rocket launchers. It indeed should be a wake up call for india leadership/defence establishment. Even small countries produce such weapons indigenously. There are sophisticated weapons sytems a big country like india can import which is understandable, but basic weapon system like this one should be made locally.
So I find it inappropriate for india to be laughing at china who is way more advance than india in almost every field, same like pakistanis laughing at india achievements or russians laughing at the U.S/west.
I have said it before, you shouldnt laugh at a country who is still way more advance than you are, try and strive to surpass them before making fun of them, else it will be seen as sour grape/jealousy (which I think it is).
Each and every country spies/steal to further their interests/improve their standing relative to others. It doesnt matter what others say, countries will keeep spying, stealing, carrying out cyber and economic espionage for their country. If you think our governments in the west and especially the U.S dont carry out such activities then I must say you people are even more naive than I thought.
The U.S is still the mosr advance/leader in cyber spying/economic espionage. No other country even come close. Not like I blame the U.S or any country for that matter for doing such things, in geo politics everything goes/is allowed as long as it serves your interests. So I dont see why many countries keep bitching/crying about the NSA revelations. I think they are just jealous of the fact that the U.S is so ahead of them technologically and they cant reciprocate enough U.S spy capabilities. They should blame themselves for lagging so much behind, its not the U.S fault for being so advance in spying/technology IMO.
So my indian friends should buckle up and strive more to advance their country which they have done quite commendably this past decade (though not enough to their true potential). I know how smart indiams are especially those I know abroad, so I expect much more from India this coming decade. laughing at China wont solve indias problem, in fact with this mentality it will widen the gap between the 2 countries even more.
Im sure the current india government will be more open/competent than the previous one, from what I have heard/read in papers/news. Wishing India all the best.

Yes of course , every country steals and stole at one point in time to catch up fast and surpass the leaders, copying, stealing and adopting it to a country needs/specification is not an easy task. If it was that easy then believe me India would be doing the same thing( even though it does copy and steal to some extent, but not to more sophisticated products which are difficult to copy giving the country limited manufacturing capabilities). You should also know that the U.S didnt become great just by themselves, they also copied and stole alot from the U.K during the late 1800s and 1900s when we were still the world only superpower. In fact we had lots of trade disputes with them during that period. They stole and copied alot from us to catch up fast and adopt/modified it to their own country needs which worked quite well for them (now they are way ahead of us in almost all fields) . The U.S(and U.S.S.R) also copied and outright kidnapped nazis scientists/engineers and forced them to work for their respective country. These also helped them quite alot to advance their countries defence and technology industries to where they are today.
Similarly, the west also copied and stole alot from China when they were still the worlds largest and most advance country .We did copied and improved alot of things from china like gun powder, paper money, compass,rocket, printing etc. We used these to improve our own societies and conquered/invade many countries in the world which helped us attain our current wealthy/dominant position.
Japan and later south korea also copied and stole alot from us in the west until they got to a position where they adopted/modified all these to the point where they even produce better products than the west.
What im trying to pointout is that copying, stealing, adapting, modifying and then innovating has always been the case for centuries and will keep being the case in future. Countries/societies will keep doing it. Theres no crime in that. Every country does it not just china or south korea or whoever. Countries that dont are simply those that dont have the capability/unable to do it. For you to even copy a sophisticated product you need a well educated, trained, professional and disciplined workforce to be able to even copy and modify a product successfully. These requires advance manufacturing,spy capabilities, developed I.T sector, technical know how etc. If it was that easy to copy, then tell me why only a few select 5 countries have a credible tried and tested armed drone ,5th generation fighter aircrafts, indegenious operational nuclear submarines, or local chip manufacturing capabilities ?
Its not an easy task at all. So when a country cant do it , some of them simply try and undermine/laugh at others who can. Its a loser mentality.

Russia probably did India a favor by rejecting the tech transfer, it lets India save their money and build it themselves.

That's also a way to look at it we are making SLBMs,SLVs,Cruise missiles & these suckers want to import Unguided rockets what is wrong with them
