Russia is seriously concerned over JF-17's take over on MiG-29

Yeah??
From the same source that you quoted: Rate of cimb of a MiG-29 is 300 m/sec.

There is a difference between fully optimized (empty low fuel etc) against average... But indeed, if your big mouth was telling about double climb rates... You must have been lying. A simple google search proved that you were wrong and now you move on to the next subject.

Simple thing is Russian media is crying since ages that Pakistanis and Chinese are copying , selling and taking over their market! Even if JFT sells so does the Russian engine used in it! So its a win win situation for all! Indians whats ur interest in the sale again?

Copy this, copy that! If Indians buy and assemble sth its transfer of tech and we give our input and modify n make sth ourselves ith help of Chinese it becomes COPY!

Earlier it was a design stolen from Israeli plane and now its from a Russian Mig-29! By Block III it will become a copy of F-16! retardsss!

Picking one number to make an argument is no comparison. Its point scoring. MiG-29 and JF-17 standing alone have their own merits.

It all depends on what was the objective of development was for each aircraft. When Pakistan started development of JF-17, it was under US sanctions. It was looking at a capability of an F-16 (the planes that were paid for but not delivered due to sanctions). So F-16 is a totally different aircraft than MiG-29. By extension and to make an argument if I compare F-16 to MiG-29, then F-16 is in many ways better than MiG-29 and vice versa.

Before that concern, they have specified that JF 17 has good amount of similarities with MiG-29 and that happaned since latter was exported to Chins.
Zarvan picks up a dated video add no comments and just gets us all to discuss the "concern".

the only valid concern is that JF-17 might compete with Mig-29 in sales and also the fact that it has a Russian engine used by Mig 29.

as far as the threat to Mig 29 in areal combat is concerned I will keep my armchair analysis to myself because its pure speculation.

Mig 29 has a few strengths: its unbeatable in a low speed turn (excellent dogfighter) and it has a low take off distance

i saw a doc about the iraq war where the USAF pilots were told to take them out at stand off distances and NEVER under any circumstances engage the 29 in a dogfight

i just cant help feel how lucky IN is to get a mig 29 with latest avionics and BVR

Navy's MiG-29K superior to IAF's SU-30MKI

Indian Navy will take delivery of the first of its 16 top-of-the-shelf carrier borne MiG-29K, the most powerful fighter jets in the region, in June.

"The first of the MiG-29K fighters will be handed over to the Navy in Moscow in June," said top officials of the RAC-MiG corporation, asserting that the fighter in its capability will surpass the Indian Air Force's SU-30MKI.

Not only this, RAC-MiG is offering IAF the same 4 plus generation capability for upgrading the existing 64 MiG-29s. The deal estimated to be worth more than $400 million is on top of the agenda during President Vladimir Putin's visit to India.

In the upgradation, the MiG is offering to extend the beyond visual range engagement of the fighter, complete change of its onboard computers and avionics and giving the jet, in addition to its air-to-air capability, highly sophisticated system to engage ground targets.

"The upgradation will be of much higher level than the new MiG-29SMT fighters delivered to some Arab countries," said Givi I Dzhandzhgava, director general of the Ramenskoye design Bureau, who would bear the major part of upgradation if it is awarded to Russia.

Facing increasing competition from the US, European and Israeli companies, the design bureau has set up an ultra modern 'Technocomplex' at Ramenskoya, 40 km from Moscow, combining the capabilities of 20 of Russia's leading aviation companies.

Technocomplex and its nearby Zhukovskiy test centre were top class secret weapons design establishments during the erstwhile Communist regime and were always in the eye of the American and NATO satellites. Throwing open the doors of these centres to visiting Indian journalists, top officials asserted that the proposed upgradation of the MiG-29 fighters will extend their life for more than 6,000 flying hours or almost 40 years.

"A complete overhaul of the fighter has been proposed," Dzhandzhgava said, adding, "We will give the new aircraft some of the most modern features in the shape of 4 plus generation capabilities. Great improvements in the shape of higher conversion rate of data links, mapping information, higher display resolutions are proposed, which will make the new MiG-29's far ahead in capability than SU-30MKI," he said.

"The proposed upgrade can be undertaken in shortest time of just two years," Dzhandzhgava told PTI adding that the overhaul of the fighter will enable it to undertake increased number of combat tasks.

"We are ready to offer the top-of-the-shelf technology, including some new systems like stealth features for the Mig-35 fighters, which would be bidding for IAF's 126 Medium Range Combat Aircraft tenders," Dzhandzhgava said.

On the Naval MiG-29Ks, MiG officials said that the first fighter will be handed over to Indian Navy in June and will be used for training its pilots and air crew personnel.

"The fighters would reach Indian soil by end of the year, almost a year ahead of the delivery of the Aircraft Carrier Admiral Gorshkov renamed INS Vikramaditya," they said.

"Unlike other nations, we are ready to share our frontier technology with the Indians," Dzhandzhgava said, adding that RAC-MiG were also ready to offload major work to Indian private and public sector industry for the MiG-29 upgradation as well as manufacture of Mig35 aircraft.

The number of times Indians have crashed the plane it has damaged the reputation for Migs since that time it will take time to recover that broken reputation

They even documented the crashes in some movies that the hero dies in plane crash of some kind old movie

Its hardly a suprise people want JF17 thunder now

I wouldn't be suprused if Indians hit a iceberg in indian ocean some how and damage the Russian built aircraft carrier next, Russians are more weary of that scenario

How can you compare a Single Engine LCA with a Twin Engine much bigger and heavier Aircraft. You can't take market away from Mig 29 based on price alone. the important thing is what an aircraft can deliver.
