Russia invites Pakistan to invest in Sukhoi Jetliner program.

Realistically, no way..How can Pakistan invest potentially and most likely) in the TFX program, the J-31 and now the Pak-Fa or super SU?

In fact, it is possible and can benefit greatly if we plan carefully. Among the three projects, Russian Super Sukhoi is the most mature A/C and Russia is an experienced nation in airplane design from the scratch. While Pakistan has a good friendship with China and Turkey. However, it is not a recommended practice to put all the eggs in the same basket. We can invest token money in all the projects and thus learn from all three to come up with our own customized solution. When Pakistan launched JF17 project, the world was different and Pakistan got the offer from China only (at least that's what we have been told) and thus Pakistan did not get exactly what it wanted. JF17 is still facing issues due to its size and other limitations. So if Pakistan benefits from all the three programs, it can more independently develop its own customized solution. The amount of money invested in these projects especially in Super Sukhoi will save Pakistan far more money as it will allow Pakistan to learn from one of the most experienced players in the aerospace industry. Status of J-31 isn't clear and we don't know about the timeline either, similarly, TFX is even more in an abstract form so it will take a lot more time. So this is the best offer and Pakistani should capitalize on this opportunity.

It is akin to India investing money in BRAHMOS project and learning and gaining knowledge from this experience of joint venture.

Those sams werent top of the line and every weapons performance depends upon how the operators deploy it, not exactly plug n play options... Sams is one field where russians are obvious world beaters...

We have no local civilian aviation industry.
Dear sir pls provide some examples of their world beating performances, as their latest S300 Variant was deployed near the base recently attacked by USA, similarly their Buk and other SAMs got pitted against IAF jets many times.

Either their export versions are so much downgraded or complex that even after usage of many years rough and tough Syrian army is unable to handle them.

Further adding to that I personally consider Syrian army more capable than KSA yet KSA forces have destroyed/intercepted many missiles with their SAMs.

The Russians are still unable to resolve issues regarding AESA radars.

Ideally Turkey, Pakistan, BD, Malaysia and Indonesia should pull resources to team up with China and/or Russia to produce def eqpt. For that there needs to be sagacious, visionary, honest and patriotic leaders. On that account Erdogan seems to be the only one available.

I would like to see the flags of Turkey/Pakistan/Malaysia/Qatar as riskshare development partners of TF-x fighter project. This monster deserves to be honoured to protect ally countries skies. Turkey selected its own way to walk instead of relying Russian and USA sources. Turkiye will receive neccessary tech asstance when It is needed but the final product will be a Turkish stamped fighter whose intellectual and property rights will be inside our own hands.

Yes it will be great, still, considering how Russia deals with its JV partners; it wants them to invest in new developments and research which is good for both, but it is almost out of the question that they will give ToT of their own existing tech.. And yes again, anything that Pakistan can get its hands on will be a step forward to designing its own 5th G fighter plane.. Now it will depend as always on the budget and the amounts asked for vs the tech from the R&D to be acquired..

Pakistan doesn't need Russia for that. We can get it from China. It's good we now have cordial relations with them, but I think we should just leave it at that. We can't really gain anything of substance from the Russians.

You could get Russia to help you license build 275 OF these..

They did thst for your Eastern Neighbour

Coordial relations on their own are no benefit to pakistan

If Pakistan invests in their most advanced components tech, there is something to gain, since China also still buys some Engine and other tech from Russia, S-400 or SU-35 for example..

Agreed, but those purchases are becoming less and less as China fast approaches the same level of military technology as that of Russia and America. It's virtually negligible now. If Pakistan is serious about becoming an advanced military power, all the resources that we need are already there via China. We don't really need to look to Russia, America or anyone else. We need to make use of our existing possibilities. Russia is not relevant to us in this regard.
