waise bhi we are not thinking beyond Indian ocean water.so Can we cancel this ship and start building 1 more AC with current'1. , We can add more destroyers and frigates etc to cover this AC loss. I know AC is very imp but this junk is already creating problem and i am sure this AC ll have huge maintenance issue in future. to cover this AC operational loss, we can create some naval air bases, where we can use any 4++ gen planes like rafale etc .

We don't have options. Its not a mobile phone, its $ 2.3 billion ship, once you get into agreement, you have consider legal options and at the same time, alternatives. You just can't predict what they will do. Russians also provided their best weapons too, critical technology and other assistance which we overlook. Not to forget they are our strategic ally and have saved us from China and US in 1971, even if it was for their own purpose.

Haven't you seen $ 12 billion MMRCA deal made leaders of GB, Germany, France, US visiting India and explicitly market their product ? Germany even issued statement against Pakistan on the same visit when they say that Eurofighter is still an option.

The factors involved are too many to scrap these multi-billion deals.

AJTR said we could have asked France to build one for us, but didn't they ask too much for Mirage upgrade and MICA missiles.

GB also offered one out of two QE class being built which was going to be scrapped but we were dealing with Russians and ACC offered by GB was relatively more expensive.

All not possible, because we would loose too much money, the QE class carriers will be STOVL once and building IAC1 on a foreign shipyard increases the costs and time for delivery as well.

The Russians are playing a stupid game here- trying to make a few cheap bucks in the short-run but putting at risk the possiblity to getting 10s of billions of USD from the IN in the coming years. This whole incident has left a very sour taste for the IN and they will certainly be hesitent to not reward failure by going back to the Russians. This reckless attitude by the Russians by blaming the IN and not taking any accountability for their shortcimings is just confirming every bad perception the Indian armed foruces have built up of the Russians over the years. Have these guys never heard of "the customer is always right??!!" Jokers.
