It is the total cost of the power plants not only the reactors. That include nuclear, mechanical, electrical, distribution, safety, water treatement, training and operating.

i know what two plants of 1200MQ each will produce I know it is a total of 2400MW, that is twenty four hundred MW, or two thousand four hundred MW. What i said about cost is after knowing what the plant capacity is. Do not worry, i am not one who will just jump up to criticism something. Neither am i doing so here, i honestly believe that there is some error or confusion in this report. The amount mentioned is not even near to what it should have been for these two plants.

I understand your point. Russian and BD expert also anticipated around 4 billion dollar. But after feasibility study for 2 years they came up with the final costing. As far as we know that the cost increased due to the structure of the soil and non availability of the water from Ganges river. Also the latest safety features added a huge chunk of the cost.

Yes BNP is gone, but not permanently. They will come back stronger. Because the "nationalist " ideology they follow wont lose its appeal.

If BNP is gone, someone else will try to form a party to fill the void on nationalist ideology. Look at AKP and erdogan, they were nobody 20 years ago.

Reporting is fine 12 billion dollar is the final cost of which 11.38 billion dollar will come from Russian credit.

There is no confusion. We are a corrupted nation. Our leaders will ofcourse bag 25% of any project. However There will be no negligence in the plant as we are densely populated. What if the entire facility has a mega anti earth quake system? We cant take any chance.

Russia said it would loan $25 billion to Egypt to begin building the first nuclear power plant in Egypt.

The loan is expected to cover 85 percent of the costs and Egypt will ahve to cover the remaining 15 percent, according to Russian Times.

Russia has approved the deal to provide Bangladesh a $11.38 billion loan for the Rooppur nuclear power plant.

RT News reported that the Russian government cleared the deal on Monday. Bangladesh government will finance the rest of the project, which will cost Tk 12.65 billion to build two plants of 1200 MW each. On Jun 27, the Bangladesh government gave its go-ahead for the loan deal.

The repayment period will be 30 years with a 10-year grace period. Bangladesh will have to start yearly repayments in March 2027, the cabinet secretary had said. The annual interest rate will be below 4 percent.

The government expects the first unit of the plant, having a 50-year lifespan, to be commissioned in 2021.

What else u need to pay after 11.37 Billion loan if total cots in 12.65 Takka? In fact, if it is 12.65 takka why take loan that is about 4 time more than what will be required?

Since deal was signed around 14 years back so the low cost. Anyway we signed another deal with Russia for 2 more reactors on the same site which cost us ~6 billion USD in 2014( almost double than what we paid for same in 2002).

What is the target production of power in the new plant and has the deal been already signed? A delaying will cause the expenses to go up. Below is the model of Rooppur power plant.
