Featured Russia admitted that Pantsir-S1 missile systems are useless against Turkish drones

Ok, if they were Russian crews you know they would tear Bayraktars a new asshole right?

at least 1 Russian Pantsir-S1 on Kamaz chassis manned by Russian mercenaries Wagner - aka ex-Russian operators has been destroyed in Libya

SAMs are not useless if used correctly, which is against a force with a far greater air force then your own. Russia uses SAMs bc their air force will never be able to compete with NATOs.

Indeed many countries are investing in access denial capabilities due to the fact they can't compete against superior network centric warfare and air superiority enjoyed by NATO countries.

I don't think Russian air defence systems are junk or garbage, they can represent a serious threat if well integrated in a multi layered defence system and used by competent and well trained/organized armed forces.

.
They are so useless that Turkey lost half of all its TB2 drones in Syria and Libya in 4 months

21 of shot down drones in Libya (only counting confirmed ones) + unknown number of unconfirmed(probably about same number).

On other hand no single active Pantsir was hit in Libya. That means Turkish drones cannt even enter its firing range. Probably because of mythical Turkish EW that exists only in Turkish fantasies

The nonsense article should be renamed to "Turkish UAVs are useless against any working ready to fire Pantsir".
-Take away the mini drones and those that crashed due to malfunction from your list and we land at about a dozen TB-2 shot down.
-Not all of them got shot down by Pantsir either
-About same number of Pantsir bite the dust due to Airstrikes
-A Pantsir costs 3 times as much as a TB2
-A Pantsir is supposed to provide aerial cover from drones not become their prey lol.

The weekly notes that the Turkish drone strikes with precision weapons from four or more kilometers and is able to barrage for a long time at high altitude, which “significantly complicates its detection by the optical-electronic station ZRPK.”

Pantsir S1 the earliest model has phased array search and track radars. It don't need EO to shoot missiles although TB2 is very small and has very small RCS and can only be tracked from a distance of about 10 to 20 km by S1.

Does Russia not have jammers that can take down drones?

Weapon systems need to be constantly updated. Russians have various pantsir variants because they know original version is dated.

If LNA pantsirs; radar and electronics are updated to latest variant, then Turkish drones would suffer badly. Then its upto Turkey to develop or deploy a system to take out latest pantsir variant. "Arms race" phrase comes to mind.

Either that or take out the airbases runway.

The latest SM model is a beast. Long range AESA. 40 km range missiles.

Is Tor better than Pantsir against drones? I think low RCS should be no problem as Tor was made to intercept missile attacking S-300, and S-400.

Obviously Russian operated Pantsirs perform much better than African mercs operated Pantsirs. The ones in Sirte are operated by Russians and Turks know their place.
