I see alot of people here looking at history and not know how much things have changed during the past 20 years.

ever since 1932 Saudi Arabia never engaged in combat (Real one) until 1991 so ofcourse they had no experience in modern combat that yes we did very and extremely poorly during that war that there was a mass resigning from the Army by soldiers and officers after seeing the difference of capabilities in NATO compared to them (I personally know 2 of those who resigned).

On the other hand the Saudi Air force were given alot of extremely difficult tasks in that war but they still excelled in it JP233 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia .

So yes we did have a lot of problems in the past but we worked and ARE working on them and this Pakistani belief that the entire saudi army is Pakistani makes me sick really.

Pakistan and saudi arabia are brotherly nations and one of the greatest allies in the world you helped us during our wars and we helped you. We have lots of Pakistani officers as Liaison but the same is to for Saudis in Pakistan.
In recent reports we have more pilot2plan ratio than normal and so we need to expand our aerial fleet which is why are assembling the typhoon in our own land. And about Saudi pilots needing to engage in more war scenarios we leap at every chance we get for these drills.

Do we lack experience most diffidently is that a good thing? Actually yes it means we are a peaceful nation and engaging in wars does not suit us as we should be more focused as a developing nation on building our own country first since war is not cheap.

Will the RSAF trump the IAF out of the sky? a high chance no currently. Will it be possible in the future? Well we are working on it.
The amount of disrespect and stereotyping facing my country is sickening and repulsive to the extreme. Saudi Arabia 20 years ago is not the same Saudi Arabia today now we are a very different generation a very specilized generation and this new generation...has alot of people in it.

Saudi Arabia 20 years ago had a severe shortage of man power in everything that simply being a Saudi means you have a guranteed job if you just can read and write now most of the young generation is college educated we have 40,000 people coming to saudi arabia each year for studying in western and eastern universities and saudi arabia 20 years from now is going to be a very different saudi arabia.

So in the end of the discussion I just wanted to point out that now we BUILD for tomorrow and try to avoid things that will hinder us from achieving that goal. I have more to say but this is enough for now. sorry for the long post.

Ohh dear I feel sorry for your thinking..Do you have slightest idea about King Abdullah work to build strong relations with Turkey for regional stability and prosperity? The strategic railway which will connect all the holy places, Jordan, Damascus and Istanbul is up 40% contracted to Turkish companies. That's the largest share for companies of single country.

Saudi Air Force with American/Pakistani pilots can definitely over come Israelis..But since this is impossible,so it will be a downhill Israeli victory.More aircrafts mean nothing..Arabs are neither trained nor experienced in modern complex warfare..If they were,Israel would've been annihilated long ago.
