Round One JF17 - Poor Display By Tejas Took 10 more sec Than JF17 To Go Up

.
Well both engines almost has same rated powers, the real power tell how much time plane take to take-off in the air. The longer the plane stay one ground , consider is not good by air force.
freaking Cessna 172 can take off a lot quicker then many modern fighter so short take off is not the only criteria to judge fighter jet maneuverability. Perhaps JF stayed little longer on runway to gain speed for extreme vertical takeoff.

Then why such thread title? I mean any sane mind would know the different scenarios for different types of show(like short vertical climb vs long vertical climb).

The only original aircraft to ever come out of HAL - even that at massive expense and with involvement of Dr. Kurt Tank in the sixties, was the HF-24 Marut. They learned their lesson, never again. Every other HAL aircraft since then has been a substandard 'Indianized' copy of western aircraft. Case in point, the Kiran,

Bad collaborated copy of the BAE Jet provost/Strikemaster,

Even the recent helicopters are derived from imported parts made by MBB Germany/Eurocopter.

So which one is original? BKK117 or EC 145.

Only v recently have we began to understand what really happened to our Gen Moinuddin. He had selected the JF-17 for BAF and MBT-2000 for BA beside other ties with Pak defense industry. This had shocked India. RAW had immediately started character assassination and incited student unrest against the regime he supported. Finally the Peelkhana killings cleverly implicating him.

Hi,

I believe that we have not done an aerial display at Bahrain ever before---. It is not a defence sales show---more for commercial aircraft show.

Just look at the comparison videos that I posted and enjoy. It is plain as daylight---the difference---.

I am pretty sure that the next run by the Tejas might be different---someone reading my post may suggest a diiferent appraoch at take off.

Exactly!!! Bahrain Air Show is NOT in the top 3 air shows.

Enough said.

Impressive performance indeed.

35 years of hard work is behind this performance that looks like exceeding F-35. India should be proud of the hard work of her scientists who (with the help of foreign consultants) were able to fit and utilize different equipment into its air frame.

This performance (better than F-35 and other fifth generation fighters) comes in a price that is several, several times cheaper than its counterparts.

Some sources are saying that different air forces (including those of Russia and US) have started communicating with HAL to procure this fighter in large numbers, however, despite Indian assurances to them of delivering an squadron per month, Air Forces are only worried if the suppliers of following equipment will be able to deliver their parts on time:

Engine (GE, US) US believes that GE is capable of providing 16 engines per month.
Radar (Israel)
Avionics (Israel)
Litening Pod (Israel)
NVG: (Israel)
HMD: (Israel)
Glass cockpit (Israel/ France)
Ejection Seat (UK)
Flight control (France)
Navigation (France)
Ring-laser gyroscope (Israel)
Quartz Radome (UK)
Inflight refueling (UK)
BVR missiles (Israel/ France/ Russia)
WVR missiles (Israel/ France/ Russia)
Main canon (Russia)

Also these air forces fear that the sale might face embargoes from different countries but even then, they are trying hard to get the deal finalized.

But again impressive performance.
this is impressive package .. for JF-17 apart from Russian engine and Martin backer ejection seat .. every component is Chinese if I am not mistaken. oh yea the paint job on both LCA and JF-17 is local like dil hey hindustani/ Pakistani

Without getting into a "mine is better than yours debate" but by simply looking at the LCA's video from Bahrain and JF17s video from Paris, it is obvious that JF17 is a more nimble aircraft. Keep in mind that both aircrafts were flying under very different rules in terms of ceiling, size of the box and airspeed so it is an apples and oranges comparison. Also JF17 was being flown by very young operational pilots while the LCA was being flown by senior test pilots from the Indian testing establishment. A few other takeaways from the Bahrain Airshow. It seems that LCA needs a very large service crew whereas JF17 needs only 3. Also it was funny to see how the pilot closed the LCA canopy manually and then pushed it back to check if it was locked. Then the ground crew member came over tapped the side of cockpit to tell the pilot that he is good to go. Kinda reminded me of Pakistani mini bus conductors. This is very weird procedure because at higher RPMs the ground crew could potentially be sucked into the engine.

Don't know what that promotional video signified, but the point was what's the production rate of JF-17 after 8 years of induction? Can you please state that?
Previously 16 per annum.. Currently 25-26 per year.

77 in service..

Production rates and the pace of improvements/R&D are dependent upon resources - considering the past decade of terrorism, instability and declining economic growth, the progress of the JF-17 is pretty impressive.

There was no IAF officer there as Its HAL and its team which went in Bahrain. Oh but then Its 'Warnes' so not surprised. lol
Where are the pilots sourced from?

It's just another lame attempt at maligning Pakistan. A few months ago it was:

"Pakistan COAS showed up uninvited in the US"!

And now

"JF-17 ran away from the Bahrain Air Show"!

Perhaps soon the Indians will start tracking the restroom schedules of the Pakistani military and political leadership and start claiming that "Modi threatened Pakistan and their leadership immediately had to go to the rest room in order to avoid soiling their clothes in fear"!

Credit must be given where it's due! warnes must have asked many interesting questions, but he tweets obvious one. Why i wonder?

Hey, if I am served my lunch tandoori roti and chicken tika masala in VIP air plane i would pay back with sweet 140 ..
