Round One JF17 - Poor Display By Tejas Took 10 more sec Than JF17 To Go Up

And if u look closely,Tejas at Iron fist had external tanks and in Bahrain in normal configuration.Still both took 13 to 14 seconds to fly.

Now how about that !
Negative my friend. You didn't look too close. There are 2 planes at Iron Fist and the one which took 13 sec to fly doesn't have external fuel tanks but the other one have. My point before was that JFT took same time with 2 diff configurations and it is not the problem of Power but the choice of pilot and training to allow a window of 18 to 20 secs.

About the video you are right:tup: it was move(nice observation which i didn't notice) and about LCA vertical takeoff i am not sure yet it can perform due to various reason and one will be first show so play safe and its a new bird and it will take time to gain confidence and may be they try that after two or three years but not before that. Vertical takeoff is a risky business and need time
Well I will accept that as I know its flight envelope has evolved only recently ( 8g+ etc) so may be they will try different things afterwards. Anyway having seen its low pass with that awesome vertical flight, I have no doubt about its capabilities.

Please read the title of the thread again...pilot choice has been already ignored....

I don't know if it's been discussed before but in spite of physically being quite a bit smaller the TEJAS weighs (MTO) quite a bit more - the only saving grace is that it has a more powerful engine (F404) and bigger wing area because of the composite ogival delta wing planform.

In future KLIMOV powerplants the thrust to weight will improve - so advantage JF-17. TEJAS is stuck, no way to scale up (Kaveri engine program is dead).

How can something (TEJAS) composed of so many types of composites (not to say advanced lithium alloys) weigh so much? And compared to JF-17 it costs way more (at least 7~8 million more per copy)

I have to give props to Pakistani Aviation Complex though - HAL doesn't even compare in terms of efficiency or maintenance of production schedules....

TEJAS is almost a textbook example of 'How to frack up a fighter program'.....

LCA Empty Weight is Less than Gripen which To is Made of Composite Material So Your Take ??

Hi,

What a joke this display is---the aircraft releases brake at 5:29---wheels up at 5:41---sticks its wheels in at 5:49---and keeps on flying low to gain speed till 5:59---ie is 10 seconds and when it gathers speed---and when it has enough energy buildup---it goes up---.

30 seconds---half a minute-----

What a chicken sh-it lack of power display----

@Viper0011. @Irfan Baloch @Zarvan @Manticore and everyone else----check this out bud----you would like the info

Now look at the take of of the JF 17 at paris

Brake release at 00:57 second-----the moment the wheels are off the ground--it takes a steep climb at 1:17 second and shoots up-----and still the wheels are down and not tucked in---which means a massive drag on the aircraft---.

The wheels go in at around 1:30---.

So---basically---it is up at close to 4000 feet elevation whereas the Tejas is just about lifitng off the runway to put its nose up in the air.

Guys---just check the vidoes out----. Pakistani guys---I told you many months ago---there was a reason for the wheels out take off and the hanging wheels----. They don't want to show the actual power of the aircraft.

PAF claims JF-17s combat radius to be 1400 km, you believe that? The thrust of RD-93 claimed by PAC is more than what the Russians themselve claim. So is JF-17 actually that light is anybody's guess.

And regarding new engines for Tejas, ever heard anything about F414?

Well In future Tejas is to be fitted with a more powerful engine too (98 kn compared to 89.6 kn now). GE 414 instead of GE404.

For what??Just license assembling of 7 planes every year from kits supplied by the Chinese??

I think this is the RIGHT time for China, Pak, BD, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives, SL to ATTACK India since TEJAS took 10seconds more to go UP!!!

Whoa,tu kab wapas aya!!I thought they shit-canned your arse for like forever!! :woot:
