That is on Pakistanis and not on Uber’s business decision to consolidate - Pakistani Uber drivers are cheats … not Uber drivers. Overseas Pakistani awaam only impacted because they don’t keep Careem
Up but that is for 15 days at max in an entire year.. who cares - however, the comments lamenting Uber’s departure are all linked to PTI supporters or local Pakistanis so no idea where the overseas aspect came from.

As for the actual topic at hand, it's more of a business decisions than anything else. Hastened by the economic situation, yes (that's what Careem emp0loyees tell), but again, that's just how the world economy is heading these days, so not really Pakistan specific.

Unfortunately, the harangued PTI supporters and dejected middle class have become more deranged. Seeing conspiracy in everything and shouting wolf but not ever making an actual effort to do anything beyond their daily lifestyles… even the rallies have petered out.

The bulk of it I'd imagine, but the same dynamic will apply to their other revenue streams. They don't have any IP in autonomous operations space. OEM's will keep them out...

It's due to severe corruption by Uber drivers who don't accept the ride when it's done they charge whatever they want and then later accept it which is much lower then what they got.

Many tourists are complaining about it.

Corruption is rampant everywhere in Pakistan


That's not the reason..
PayPal never entered for a reason.
Several tech companies also leaving for a reason.


Nothing to do with IK or bajwa... corruption remained the same in each era

Such drivers should be reported by the victim and their ID should be banned ....it seems the consumer awareness is also out of place.

I believe they would have been better off had they just focused on their transport business instead of e-commerce.

that may not have worked well either. the issue, as i see it , is that they thought they were just an IT company whose product is an app. that wasnt the case; the app was just an interface between them and the customer. their actual business was very much a brick-and-mortar one. with these types of businesses, until you have skilled people on the ground managing things, one is not going to succeed.
