We need more Vande Bharat trains for inter city connectivity for faster travels. Upgrading infra as a whole will take a while though. Electrification of the lines was done pretty fast.
Air travel is cheaper now though, you can get flight tickets for around the same figure as an A/C 2nd tier ticket price, if you book them on time.

I can accept Pakistan have bad railway system, but India and Bangladesh have worst railway.
