As you all know that Turkey is operating over 3.000 Units of m113 APC that are already aged.

It´s time to dicuss which is the best Replacment for the Future.

As The Candidates we have today an Tulpar from Otokar Company and maybe FNSS will show us an new Version of his Kaplan (Stretched Version) like Tulpar for carrying troops.

There is too an 3rd option that maybe Turkish Army don´t accept the Products and maybe there will come an new Product.

.
FNNS should come up with new things... For example they should apply avaliable things of MILDESIGN competition... There are really good opinions there...

What's new on that KAPLAN ?.. I see nothing...

What is MILDESIGN for ?.. Just for fun ?!..

wouldn't a MRAP V-shaped haul be a better design???

IED/EFPs would eat that up like they do the m113

.
hmm interesting, it's will be more better if Turkey can offer joint research and development for the programme with other friendly country like Pakistan or Indonesia as far as i know, Pakistan currently lacking in IFV and Indonesia is in progress to modernizing her Army and currently trying to built tracked armored vehicle.

MRAP can't go on harsh off road terrain, meanwhile most IED deployment is to be placed on roads and other urban environment infrstructure like bridges and so on, and because of those experiments in Iraq and Afghanistan there is came MRAP design.

haha there is always trade off between tracked and wheeled for Armored vehicles, if you can have both why not?

But, lately i am suspecting the current trends is leaning toward 8X8 armored vehicle, for example is most of Armies in Europe (like Germany, France, Poland, and so on) is going with their 8X8 armored vehicle for their M113 and other older tracked APC replacement programme, meanwhile countries like China and Russia still operating between the two types.

.
Same thing with PA... although i think ours will soldier on atleast till 2020... but the good thing is that they have already started getting wheeled vehicles... like VN1,Dragoon and even Textron,

Yeah but Tulpar looks like an Tracked Arma and Kaplan like a Tracked AV-8 small sized.

From the Frontside.

We didn't have TULPAR like IFV but we had KAPLAN like M113... FNSS should make something different...

Nail KURT firstly keep his promise to develop a new IFV better than German PUMA (He claimed to reveal it in 2014 but What they revealed is a Kaplan like semi-matured PARS/ACV mixture design which can't be on par with PUMA). Turkish army has enough ACV series of tracked vehicles produced by FNSS. What Turkish Army is looking forward is a new generation/new chassis platform like Tulpar.

Indonesia is developing mentioned tracked armoured vehicle thanks to technology given by Turkey, FNSS.

Turkey has a vast of domestic wheeled vehicles which can be used on many different roles.

Tulpar is only longer and carries more Soldiers. From Kaplan is there only an mock-up.

Where had a version of m113 who replaces the Role from Kaplan is provided ?

.
I think both can possibly be acquired. Otokar Tulpar seems fit for the IFV role and Kaplan/ACV-S can be mass-produced for the APC role. Truthfully i dont really like Kaplan. Its just to small and aside from the fact it doesnt really bring anything new to the table, it looks like a half-assed Pars/M113 mix. Considering our current options, i would opt for either Wheeled APCs or ACV-S.
