Renaissance of Bengali Hindu and the Subversion"

mmm...no offense to anyone here, but what is exactly Bangladesh's position in respect to the Bengal Renaissance? Does this have anything to do with Muslim Bengalis?

Forgive my ignorance since I know very little about the history behind Bengal's cultural heritage.

According to a Bangladeshi poster here, most Muslims in pre-renaissance Bengal didn't identify themselves as Bengalis but Turk, Pathan, Arab and god knows what!

Bengali renaissance gave them an identity of their own!

Listen dude, your post is as synonymous as the point made by Gonjo which is ancient pride. Claiming Bangali history didn't almost exist before the british came (renaissance) is as pathetic as the ones over here claiming similar stuffs from Bangladesh.

Listen to this song, now does that sound similar to you? Over-enthusiastics will claim Tagore nakedly copied the Anthem from our Lalon but some call it influence.

Turks? Pathans (Pashtuns)? Arabs? That's impossible. Those folks are completely different ethnic groups. In today's Bangladesh, much of the population are ethnic Bangalees.

@ Now-a-days some of Indian Bengalee filmmy dialouqes are, " Ek rattki debo" simultenouly the same person repeats it in hindi "ek thudda lagaong ga", so this is the standard of Calcutta Bangla.

I have never seen any Bengali movie in my life. Am not a Bengali if thats what you are referring to. Don't let my surname fool you.

From what I have seen during my visit to Kolkatta and Kharagpur, no one speaks hindi. Heck even the people from other states like Biharis and people from Assam speak Bangla in West Bengal. I guess Indian Bengali movies are trying to diversify and increase their audience hence they use Hindi dialogues once in a while.

Sorry if I offended you mate, but I was referring to the Bangladeshis, who on this very forum complain about Bangladesh's national anthem being penned by a "Hindu" Rabindranath Tagore. They sit here and constantly complain and malign Hindu and Indian Bengalis. Am not going to shut up and just listen to their shyte. Am as patriotic as you are.

Unlike you we can watch Indian TV channel here. Those are filled with Hindi. Even 30% songs in any music programme are Hindi. People speak Banglish, Banghind etc. Moreover, they extensively use Calcutta dialect instead of pure Bengali in news broadcasting. The only channel which I found uses very good pure Bangla is DD.

Must be some Bhojpuri which Md Akmal picked up ....he aint no Bengali after-all . In all my time of watching Bengali movies I haven't heard such expressions ever .

Am sure it must be from one of the B-Grade Bhojpuri movies , if at all it exists... ...
