REARMING of JAPAN

Any REAL reaction from Asia about what would happen if Japan publicly deployed nukes? (because let's face it, Japan probably has working nukes in storage just in case)

There is no single answer to this question. Asia is too large and consists of many nations as you know. They have different policies. One country may greets this move, the other one will condemn.

As for Vietnam, we do not support this.

We Filipinos don't like nukes period its a stupid weapon system it kill your enemy and you and others but as long is not aim at us or being used and under an Allied or responsible country sure why not it would give us more time to build our defense here in the Philippines and chinese can place their attention to Japan

Americans will never allow Japanese (same goes to SK) to develop nuclear weapons, and let's not forget that Japanese public opinion is strongly against nuclear weapons.

Sure sure and accounting to North Korea Unicorn exist and your peace loving country right:woot:

I respect Vietnam, as they proved to be a warrior nation that fought invaders for 2,000 years. But WTF is phillipine! A country of more than 90 million people that begs their European/American masters. You got your *** handed over by the Malaysian Pirates, Spanish Conqustors, US Marines, and finally the IJA and IJN. Is Phillipines a country with culture that is native to east Asia? No native Writting system! A primitive Language with too many foreign influence! No Confucius Style dicipline and work ethics like in Korea, Japan and even Thailand. You can barely control your Southern Island that want independence from "Democratic"Phillipines". Even Pro-Western Institutions like Strat-For states that "The Phillipines is like a despotic Latin American nation rather than an Asian nation".

lol the last 3 page have nothing to do with Rearming Japan except for the lone question on if Japan acquired Nuke.......

If China do not care if Japan should rearm, then i think the Chinese member should stop saying anything about it, what good can you get if you keep saying Vietnam and Philippine is a crap nation, does that mean anything to the topic? No.

I am surpised that mod don't come here and clean the thread.

Back to Topic.

I don't think any country can score an easy win on japan even in the current states if they were to invade Japanese homeland.

The problem are always associates with the number of armed force present in Japan soil. A stronger armed japan can deter any agression to Japan. It will also help their own economy. Let me use a phase where a lot of Chinese Member used here. Why Japan can't rearm themselve? China is doing it, North Korea is doing it, Russia is doing it, South Korea is doing it, it;s only fair for the Japanese to do it this time.

cause it was defeated in the war and is banned to do so by the treaty, the same goes for Germany.

Everyone else would also build nukes. Countries like Japan and Korea can build nukes in a month and they don't even need centrifuges to enrich plutonium.

It is a little more tricky for Taiwan as Taiwan has no real nuclear industry and is heavily dependent on Japan for the operations of its Japan-built nuclear power plants.

The article 9 of peace constitution will be struck down now the the endorsement of the US which wants a rearmed Japan.

A month? Are you nuts.Even nuclear tests would take more than One month.A research says It would cost japan years to make a usable nuclear weapon, korea would need more time.

Actually, right wingers in the US have been pushing Japan to rearm for years. At the very least to get rid of article 9.

And in the future, the only way Japan doesn't get invaded/attacked by China : become their puppet or have nukes or regime change in China... what you think is the most likely?

But yeah, most Japanese are against nukes and I don't blame them.

A month?Are you nuts.

Nuclear weapons are relatively simple to manufacture once you have enriched fission material. This is why even countries like Pakistan and North Korea have them.

And countries like Korea and Japan have not only an army of nuclear scientists(currently employed in engineering nuclear power plants and fusion reactors) at disposal, they don't even need centrifuges to enrich uranium and plutonium to 99%.

Korean can't even lauch a tiny rocket with the help of russia, and you are here to boast how capable SK is,Is that a joke?

No, it's called the cold-hard reality. Korea is two decades ahead of China in nuclear engineering.

ITER Fusion Reactor work share. Everyone pays equally, but work share is distributed on what each partner nation is actually capable of supplying.

Europe: 20% / Russia: 20% / China: 7% / Japan: 25% / Korea: 20%

It is no accident that Korea can sell nuclear power plants with EU/US certifications, while China can't.

Yen plunges after conservative win in Japan elections

The yen plunged in Asian currency markets on Monday after Japan's conservative opposition swept to victory in national polls, with promises from its leader to press for more central bank easing.

In early Tokyo trade, the dollar bought 84.30 yen, up from 83.52 yen in New York on Friday, the greenback's strongest level against the Japanese currency in over a year and a half.

The euro also soared against the Japanese currency at 111.10 yen from 109.94 yen in US trade.

On Sunday, voters dumped Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda three years after his Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) promised a change from more than half a century of almost unbroken rule by the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP).

Hawkish LDP head Shinzo Abe pledged to bolster Japan's defences in the face of a territorial spat with China while vowing to pressure the Bank of Japan (BoJ) into more aggressive policy easing measures in a bid to inject new life into the world's third-largest economy.

He also offered to boost spending on infrastructure at a time when much of the tsunami-wrecked northeast remains a shell of its former self.

Abe's central bank pledge has weighed on the yen in recent weeks as traders bet that an LDP victory would hike the likelihood of more easing from the central bank, and see the appointment of a like-minded BoJ governor after the bank's current chief Masaaki Shirakawa's term terms ends next year.
