Rampant spying destroys US credibility

If you watch US news during the media blitz on Chinese cyber espionage, you'll see a lot of "experts" often in official capacity making these statements on pretty much every news outlet. That's why you see people jump up and down when the US is exposed of its hypocrisy.

Did those "Expert" works for the US government??

You can have your own view, every American entitle to their own view, but that does not alter the Charter of US Agency and US Foreign Policy.

There are no clause saying CIA cannot spy on Private Citizens or International Company (As long as not within the US, FBI took care within the US) There are no charter forbidding both CIA and FBI to spy or steal secret. Think about it, what did Spy Agency do??

How hypocrite can it be to have a spy agency spy on something?

Your perspective is that of a single agency, but when these statements are made, and espionage act are committed, it is seen as representing the US as a whole, not just the CIA. And yes even during the US-China cyber security dialog, the US delegation soundly proclaims to the Chinese side that the US is the only nation which does not conduct economic espionage.

lol.....When did US said that ? Maybe you are referring to WSJ interview on Chris Finan?

Chris Finan said "State enable spy on company to gain advantage is current outside International Norm"

That does not mean the US don't do them, and he did said it did not have much creditability for US to say this while US is also actively spying on China.

Naaa, that's just one small piece of the media blitz. I was referring to the 5th round of US-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue, not that that's the only instance where such statement is made however.

What is scary on part of US spying on Japan is not only the fact that Japan is a very important ally.

But also the fact that US shared the intelligence they gathered from Japan with third parties.

That's an outright betrayal of the alliance. I understand spying to some degree. But sharing it?

I would be bloody concerned about this if I were Japan.

Why would the US have an urge to share the spied info with third parties?

@Nihonjin1051 , and especially my nationalist friend, @yoshi.oda

I have an ideation. But i think it would do more harm if i were to put in my points. It has been made known to me that the 公安調査庁 has been following my posts recently. So, please accept it that i cannot answer....

The Canadian bureau of public boredom has contacted me to stop making jokes, yet I still do it.

In case anyone's wondering, that office is in the Prime Minister's side chamber.

If it were only that funny. Anyways, I will not participate in this thread.

Please respect that request.

US doesn't form alliances, it forms master-slave relationships.

Indeed, this only might explain the "special" characteristics of US-Japan "alliance."

US should be able to spy on Japan.

And spy not only on its defense-related areas, but particularly spy on Japan's finance and government inner circles.

Japan should not be able to say anything, let alone retaliate, other than showing up some sulky face.

But sulky face is nothing new for Japan's political establishment.

US then should be able to share the spied (defense, finance and public policy-related) info with third parties.

Japan, once again, should not be able to retaliate other than some few sulkier faces on the media.

No wonder, it is a special relationship. Very very special.

No worries. Your concern is definitely understandable. Stay well, my friend.

Oh wow, I hope you'll be alright. :( @Martian2 has gained the unpleasant experience of having to deal with FBI/CIA agents knocking on his door at least four times, as he posted on the Worlddefence forum a year ago. As far as I know he also frequented the comments sections of mainstream media outlets for three years in addition to his activity on various military forums like PDF which must have drawn the ire of Washington. He announced his retirement from posting in the very same thread where he shared his experience but he came back to the Internet after a couple of months, albeit with self-censorship.

So much for freedom of speech in First World countries... :hitwall:

I hope neither the Bundesnachrichtendienst nor the Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz will become too interested in PDF as well. Stay safe, old chap.
