Sanctions are weapons used for gaining specific objectives. We have seen these when US used these against rogue countries like Iran and South Korea who are far more powerful than Bangladesh. Harassment of political opponents (Hasina's Goom-Khoon) was just an excuse to start the process of gaining that objective.

They have no reason to back down unless Bangladesh (Hasina) has any leverage, and she does not. Why would they care?

Hasina as the Chief Executive of the country can do many home works. She can dissuade RAB from doing heinous things. This already will be done because of fear of what further actions America may take.

Once RAB fear is down people will be free to express their opinions, can gather freely under opposition parties to demand for a Caretaker govt.

Once CTG is established, things will go better, democracy will be re-established in the country at the displeasure of BAL Chetona groups in this Forum.

One other option is Hasina and her great Cabinet is to resign and a neutral govt is formed under the Chief Justice. He creates a CTG and other things go as usual. Democracy is re-established. Hasina Bibi and her cronies take shelter in their Fatherland India.

The last time after 1971, Awami League showed a new color with which the people of Bangladesh were not familiar. This time also they came back with sweet words but showed the same or more arrogant style than the last time.

BAL fell at that time and now without the Indian/ American protection behind it, it will fall again. America is just watching what actions Hasina Bibi takes against RAB and others to restore the rights of the people.

How about changing the title to "জাতীয় পৌত্র" and "National Grandson"? After all, he is also aspiring to become the next national leader. To become a PM is his birthright. Tareque Rahman is another one. We remain in between them.

I hope to see new people with proper educational backgrounds come to lead the country. However, the older generation people are more known and have more acceptability.

Older people like Dr. Kamal Hossain, Dr. Yunus or many others should come forward and give guidance. However, a country is not like teaching students in a classroom.

দুহিতা is daughter , so son of দুহিতা is দৌহিত্র, daughter of দুহিতা is দৌহিত্রী!

Son of son is পৌত্র, and daughter of son is পৌত্রী!

So sajeeb wazed joy , the son of Hasina is his ( Mujib) দৌহিত্র (Douhitro) , not পৌত্র ( Poutro)!

"Jatir nati/জাতির নাতি" is absolutely correct ( that @Bilal9 Bhai wrote ) as nati means both Poutro and douhitro!

But Douhitro can never be exchanged with Poutro, as you wrote.

So before bashing people at least learn your mother language properly!

Can you send us some newspaper clips to prove your statement that India is causing the disappearance of Indian Muslims? Do not please make up things arbitrarily.

And what America does with other countries is not necessarily to be compared with the sanctions imposed on BD. It is illogical to compare that way.

There are multiple reasons that the US govt has imposed sanctions against the most notorious BD officials. But, we do not have to care about those reasons. We care more about re-establishing democracy in the country.

American sanctions help BD to restore democracy. We are not a communist country like China and North Korea. But, we have been placed in the same category as these two countries.

BD being an US-sanctioned country will lose its export markets in the west. So, BD goovt must change its bullying style and restore democracy.
