Jinnah tried his best to convince Sikhs to stay put in United punjab under Pakistan but they refused. What a silly decision it was. In Pakistan, it's punjab which is the king maker and had they been part of Pakistan, they would have yielded immense political clout. Now they are residents of just another state in India among many.

2. What was he expecting when he joined the Indian army ?Usually people join army to fight against enemies.

I don't know the true history and timings of India-Pakistan problems and issues. But I do know one thing.....he didn't fight because he knew there was real love on the other side. He knew there were people like him who loved him. So when the definition of an "enemy" changes, and specially if one thinks they are fighting without a proper cause, the change of hearts will take place. Seems like that's what happened here.

Their seems to be a clear wedge between those in the South and those in the North, we need to exploit this and rightly so, in the event of conventional war it will be the north of india that primarily suffers, states like Tamil Nadu will be fine, that is why hawks like G. They are wonderful people and believe me they love punjabi and punjab more than us. Naturally and religiously they are very close to us, the only thing needed is more connection and people to people contact of punjab wasiee.
