What's new

Qandeel Baloch is dead

When a women starts bringing dishonor, it is not just herself that she dishonors but the whole family.
Why is it that girls are considered torchbearers of honour?
Come to think of it, dont guys share the burden too?
but how many kill their sons and brothers in the name of honor.

I'm not justifying what she did, but she certainly didnt deserve this fate.

Actually you can. It is her life. She didn't do anything wrong. She was living her life the way we all young people do. Why is it okay for young men to enjoy the life and not for women?

Ok, so what were his options? Legally, religiously, what exactly were the brother's options? I am just thinking aloud, on the net, and I think that the brother and the family probably didn't have many options.

Are you seriously justifying Qandeel's acts with those of other strippers? Seriously?????
So they killed her?
Why family needed options?
What was wrong in her acts, it's media who was giving her free publicity, here in India Poonam Pandey, Rakhi Sawant like girl do same but we don't care.
Not talking about pornstars...
Maybe in Indian Punjab your mothers call you 'kanjar'. Not in Pakistan.
Actually, I didn't know meaning of this word.
I can bet you that the people who express the most "outrage" are the very people who would have been titillated by her in the past. Pakistan is the biggest consumer of internet pron, and India isn't far behind. But then the same people act all pious and curse the women they enjoyed watching.

When I said "here", I meant in the US.
I said it isn't considered sin but not a respectable job.
This is thread to pay respect for Qandeel Baloch, not to troll here. I know there is some who pay respect for her. Unfortunately, there is some who take advantage of this situation like sick minded people do. I am not wrong about them even though i may have misjudged one member here.
Can you name some crime she committed?

....

I'm not justifying what she did, but she certainly didnt deserve this fate.

Don't be defensive - she was the one whose life was cut short , her entire being violated. Only the murderers and those who try and give us 'context' on their behalf should be defensive.

Mother killed a daughter in the name of honor. Not surprised.
now show me an instance where mother killed her son in the name of honor.
So let's stop making it a gendered thing ... instead lets start addressing the darn problem ...
Upto you how you address it.
But the fact is majority of honor killing victims are females.

Ciao

This is what a mother did ...

oh and this is what happened to a guy ... in the name of honor ..

To the daughter, not son. If son did this, i doubt that would be the case here. I mean our Imran Khan is popular for that life whereas woman in his place is stigmatized instead. Gender bias exist for a reason.

I guess because we respect our women more then we respect our men? Perhaps that is why women of our society are considered and expected to be shining stars of honor and morality.

"sympathies with the family

"sympathies with the family" including the Brother ?

I personally believe it to be a family decision and not just that of her brother. And so yes, my sympathies for the family that they had to make this extremely difficult decision.

So by that logic, the reason Taher Shah is still not murdered in the name of honor killing is coz Sisters dont do so?

are you justifying the act of the Brother to kill the own sister because of family honor ? I dont mind if yes, I just would like to know it, because over 50% of the posts made in this topic are yours, to understand your post I would like to know your clear mind about the killing and not your moral or political mind about this issue. Just give a clear position, would you have stopped the murder, when he informed you to kill his own sister (what ever the sister is, let that beside)?
