I think change comes slowly. I know not in my lifetime but next few generations. His march shows people want change, but need a leader...Our leaders are remarkable slaves, a country can't buy even a drop of gas next door and pays billions of dollars to IPP every year by signing dirty agreements of kickbacks. Look at electrical bill surcharges and factories shutting down in our Industrial zones.
If we are talking about change coming over the next few generations, then of course I would accept that it might happen. The economic distress that you mention was made over the last few decades, and not just the last few years, to be sure. It has been a massive, sustained, and collective failure.
