Why don't we go for a JV with Turkey for 5th gen. as it will lower the costs and also bring more mature technologies???

PAC said they're open to the TF-X, but I don't think they care as much about the fighter (as PAC is clearly working on a different but similar design). Rather, we might be interested in collaborating on the electronics, engine tech, air-to-air and air-to-surface weapons, etc.

paf and twin engine aircraft are two light-years apart phenomena.

F-6 and A-5 were twin engines... PAF has flown quite a few twin engines

With such a slow progress they'll have to start 6 gen... now and learn from both simultaneously. Just so that a mature 6th gen design becomes a reality in foreseeable future. Indian programs are a case in point... if you cannot deliver a product in time it will just become a case study and nothing else.

Project Azm has been set an eleven-year deadline to complete. We are only in the third year.

This same article was shared by Quwa News and the 5th generation plane photo is just a artistic design, it's got nothing to do with the Pakistani design.

We Pakistanis need to be realistic, there is no way Pakistan can make it's own 5th generation fighter jet as we cannot afford it and also have no technology. It will most likely be a Chinese j31 type of joint design and fighter jet with Pakistan specs.
The unfortunate news for now is that j31 has been delayed as we have seen no new prototypes so it has been moved to 2030. We have a decade of wait for a new jet. I hope Paf decides to go for the euro fighter jet in order to counter Rafael

EF is not for sale to Pakistan. That is the harsh reality.

Pakistan will continue to invest and mature JF-17.

I was thinking EF would be available if Pakistan decides to pay for it. We can still keep an eye out for the f16v. Let's see what happens.

Yes true and investing in Jf17 is a very clever move by Paf. We saved billions, it has protection from sanctions, we can buy in unlimited numbers and load it with latest weaponry. A dream for Paf.

1st 5th generation- JF31 with Pakistan specs.
2nd 5th generation - Tfx with Turkish/western technology.
