President Trump launches military strike against the Al-Assad regime

appeasing the neocons and going along with their rotten foreign policy agenda so he has 'ammo' to deal with his domestic agenda makes no sense.

under what pretext did he take this action anyway, that "brutal dictator" Assad gassed "beautiful babies" ?

sorry, not buying it.

these so called rebels are a bunch of saudi sponsored sallafist filth, no different to "ISIS", this was either a false flag by them or the Russians/Syrians hit a chemical munitions dump. Assad had zero reasons to do this.

All the chemical weapons were supposed to have been destroyed by now. So hitting a weapons dump (if thats the claim Assad + Russia is going with) that had sarin in it isn't going to cut it.

Its not a black and white picture in Syria of Assad+Russia vs the monotone homogeneous rebels.

At least give some time for Putin and Russia to file an official response in so we can better see what this was all about....before you start saying "appeasing the neocons".

Is this really happening?
PDF members here PROMISED me Trump would not harm Assad. And that he and Putin would save Syria? :(
Whoever did that, was fucking stupid.

US foreign policy is bigger than Trump, and he likely signed off on it only, after his commanders advised him to conduct these strikes.

This was a long time coming, and is a major warning to Assad, as well as Russia. It likely won't be the last time such a strike occurs, but that all depends on how Assad and Russia react.

this airbase is practically next door to latakia where Russians are having a base.......

all indications at this point are that this was not an isolated attack.... it may be repeated...on a different target

The Russians were warned of the strikes, and yes, it may very well be repeated. Trump has changed his stance on Assad once again, and has said that he won't allow Assad to be a part of Syria's future. If these strikes indicate one thing, he isn't as hesitant to use military power, as Obama was.

The US worries not for the peaceful population in Syria. They need blood from the nose for to supply stolen oil and gas to Europe. This is their interests !!! That's why Europe is silent.

.
The Russians knew it was coming but didn't do anything to stop it for Putin knows all too well that his puppet has blood of innocent children in his dirty hands. His official stand is for consoling his terrorist buddy.

Why do people have such selective memory?

American intervention and "removal of governments" ala Afghanistan and Iraq usually causes far more killing and civil unrest than under a sitting government. These are failed experiments and flawed notions.

Where is the proof that regime jets dropped the chemical weapons (vs. hit a rebel chemical weapons store with conventional bombs)?

Why would Assad use chemical weapons at a time when he needs public and global support as the best option Syria has (though he is far from perfect, obviously, who is the US --- which has dropped atomic bombs on civilian populations --- to question this; and Saudi Arabia and Israel cheering things on, while their own human rights record is one of the worst in the world)?

Where were American tomahawks when Israel used white phosphorus on civilian population centers repeatedly (Human Rights Watch called it war crimes)?

The world is a circus.

. . .
The fact he has chemical weapons is not in question, so this is no WMD 2.0.
We should have acted like you Chinese- give a rat's a__ if they gas each other. Hell, I don't think the Chinese even put out a word about it.

You do realize that the WMD case was presented with just as much vigor and media hype?

Also, if the US believes in militarily punishing regimes that use chemical weapons based on moral principles, where were the tomahawks when Israel was using white phosphorus over illegally occupied civilian populations? Which Israeli airbase did American missiles destroy? Oh, that's right...

Assad is far from perfect, but so are many of America's allies in the Middle East (abysmal human rights records across the Gulf states.)

Too bad that you couldn't see this coming before Trump got elected! However, you guys can start preparing for campaigning for the next presidential candidate against Trump in 2020. But you know what, I think your next candidate will also follow the same path if he wins the election. So, this way or that way you lose.

Two words summarizes it all: double standards.

The more I see US, the more I realize this is the biggest terrorist country of the world.
And Bashar Al-Assad is a saint? This murderer has been allowed to ruin the lives of millions of people in the region and entire Islamic bloc is watching from distance. On top of this, Russia is trying to protect this criminal and some Muslims are championing this support?

Muslims of modern times have really lost their way.

They have been defeated in Aleppo and its hard to digest. Of all the countries US has terrorized, Assad has proved a tough nut to crack.
Assad is hardly a tough nut to crack.

Breakthrough in Aleppo occurred because US decided to exercise restraint after Libya chapter. If Obama administration wanted, it would have toppled Assad-led regime in Syria years ago. However, Obama administration decided not to.

Don't mistake restraint for lack of capability.

By destroying an airbase in Syria, Donald Trump has send a message to Assad (and his stooges/allies) that they are being watched. All that Russian hype down the drain.

US is the superpower. Understand this.
