power tariffs in Maharashtra is increasing like never before.....I dont know if I should actually believe it....for less than 300 units I pay more than 2000 Rs...but if you see, the power companies will say they are selling at unit cost of 2,3 or 4...but the end user is paying around Rs8!!! this is exponential ...!

What rate you paid before? In UP we pay around 6-7 for small household and we are paying this from like ages with increase every year and this is almost in accordance to world standard unless you want to spin a theory out of nothing.

If you dont want to jump your prerogative but I feel I should speak if its a lie, whats wrong in that?

If there is a scam it will come out in open these lies wont be able to manufacture it, and its not jumping but its deliberate attempt by lefties like that Award Wapsi nautanki, a dalit was beaten to death for complaining about cow smuggling in Agra and you know India become very tolerant that time cuz the killers were from particular community.

These lefty scums who manufactured a dalit suicide into a murder in Hyderabad for votes were dead silent on that same dalit murder and dalit women rape in Kerla and again you know you cant criticize Modi there so India was again tolerant that time.

I hate hypocrites, I hate these scums who cant even stand with dalits, who differentiate even in them for votes, if this dalit death can give you more votes you cry loud if dalit life wont give you any vote let him die! and if they are lying it again I wont take it as truth ever, you can sit back and never jump to conclusion please.

Power tarrif depends on many factors

Total cost of electrical energy = fixed cost +semi fixed cost + variable cost.

(a + b*KW +c*KW-h ) Rs.
Here,
a = fixed cost independent of the max demand and actually energy consumed. This cost takes into account the cost of land, labor, interest on capital cost, depreciation etc.
b = constant which when multiplied by maximum KW demand gives the semi fixed cost. This takes into account the size of power plant as maximum demand determines the size of power plant.
c = a constant which when multiplied by by actual energy consumed KW-h gives the running cost. This takes into account the cost of fuel consumed in producing power.
Thus the total amount paid by the consumer depends on its maximum demand, actual energy consumed plus some constant sum of money.

××× power factor should be maintained 0.8 or above otherwise penalty is levied on them depending on the deviation.

If you are able to understand these parameters... you can understand that company would be benefit by increasing a and c ..

Tariff Policy Setup:
The electricity tariff policy has been laid down to ensure that electricity is available to consumers at reasonable and competitive rate and to ensure that there is financial viability of the power sector. The policy ensures transparency and promotes competition and efficiency in the operations.

Cross Subsidy:
Though the cost of supplying electricity to all the categories of consumers remain the same the tariff charged is different. Domestic consumer may be charged Rs.2.5 per unit whereas industrial consumer may be charged Rs.3.5 per unit for the consumption. Domestic consumers are cross subsidized by the industrial consumers. This happens to be one of the major tool for energy conservation.

Electricity Duty or Tax:
As a substitute to the cross-subsidy, state government uses tax and duty to give subsidy to the needy consumers. Different duty or tax is charged for different consumer categories. With the collection of this duty, government manages the finances for the subsidy that is provided to the needy consumers.

Application of Electricity Duty or Tax:
The duty is charged on consumption at the applicable rate per unit of electricity consumed. If you electricity consumption is higher, you will be getting a higher electricity duty. Certain states the duty is charged on the total charges. The only way to reduce the duty is to reduce the consumption per month. This ensures that efficient energy conservation measures are taken.

fuel+maintenance + others comes into variable chargers ... and fixed charges, you know equipment etc... inorder to gain more profits ... those companies might alter these costs.. and there is penalties for reactive power(p.f) ...
