Several times i have considered moving to USA. Norwegians are notoriously introverts and weather is bad.

But one thing that scares me from doing it is the crime. America simply is not a safe country. Many Norwegians who lived there and came back said the same. It wasnt safe for their children, compred to Norway.

I am also tired of this country.

Upper middle class and upper class suburbs are mostly safe. These suburbs are their own towns with their own police. They go to great lengths to maintain safety to keep up the premium appeal of the towns for the tax base that pays their salaries.

Just don’t move to or near projects. I knew a nice Bengali family moved in there. Parents and older daughter kept to themselves and traditional. The younger daughter was not so much, and caught the attention of the young men and well in a matter of ONLY a year … I’d rather not say.

Yes, I’ve heard Norway is generally safe, but would you say all of Oslo is safe? To move ahead, and avail yourself of opportunities, you really have to do the research, on the ground, and take calculated risks.

There is a reason, many new immigrants move to either ethnic/religious enclaves in the large cities (where the community can help watch over the kids) if there is a sense of community, or to small town America, where it would be the same concept regardless of background.

Are you Ethnical Norwegian? The upper Midwest may appeal to you. Perhaps Minnesota.

Although, I hope you see what honest people that lived in Minnesota say about the state.

The actual numbers of Chinese going overseas is minuscule compared to the enormity of its population. Even If there are some Chinese still going to Britain, it’s only because of legacy reasons (British education still having a good reputation and conferring a status). However, nothing you’ve whined about actually dismisses my point, that the UK is in steep decline and the decline will becomes even more precipitous in the years to come. Yeah really depend on the neighborhood, i assume.

Oslo is as safe as it gets. But like everyplace if you hang out with bad people, sooner or later bad things will happen.

The annual murder rate in Norway is extremely low. Death by robbery really never happes. If there is a murder ususally the victim and perpetrator is related. So a inncocent 3rd party is never really involved. Would say even the most «bad» neighborhoods in Oslo is safer than most other places on Earth.

Whats attracting about USA is the muticultural thing, and that people generally are extremely friendly and greets strangers.

I have also considered Spain, Malaysia and Australia. As a muslim i want my children to grow up and be good muslims too. So Malaysia and Indonesia are good options. Gulf countries generally seem OK but from what i have heard from Bangladeshi expats, its a hirarchial society.

Which brings me to another thing about USA i like; egalitarian outlook.

I am also tired of this country.

Its really boring and people are so narrowminded. Norway is a orderly country and full of good job opportunities and healthcare.

But once you live here as long as i did, you see a nation thats been a isolated place and rocky outskirt of Europe until very recently.

Very true. You can have immigrants that are needed for your economy but not for the diversity. Diversity is what is killing Europe at the present.
