Dear Forum Members,
In my time on this forum, I have read much about the poverty in India. Although this is a defense forum, it is my sincere belief that as South Asians we must never lose focus on the gravest of issues our countries face today, i.e. poverty.
A considerable number of our citizens spend their time scavenging for food, they literally live from day to day, on the very brink of existence.
I want to start a thread that outlines the challenges we face and all that we've done (doing) to overcome this, most daunting of hurdles.
I would like this thread to be India specific, but I would encourage members from our neighboring states to do the same. Millions of our people a struggling to survive, the least we can do is have a thorough understanding of the root causes of their situation and what, if anything, that can be done to help alleviate their situation.
(Mods, I know this thread is in the wrong section, I didn't know where to put it since I can't put it in the economy section, please move it to the appropriate section, also, consider making it a sticky, poverty isn't going anywhere in a hurry.)
