PM under pressure on COAS extension issue

The politicians consistently use the military not being under law or following its processes as an excuse for their failures in doing so. Take that away, and their only excuse to the public goes away. We hate most of them anyway due to their corruption and general abuse of the common man. If the military indulges in it , then the politicians can simply point fingers and say "they do it too".
So you're saying that their whataboutery has kept the common man from ripping them in the streets? No Sir, that is not the case. The common man would rather let himself be cheated, go back to his shop, cheat a customer and cover his losses.

That is part of the case. So is the common man's apathetic nature. This is a society and not a case of who is at fault.
But one cannot just sit back on society and play safe just because we all are guilty and afraid of being pointed at.

Which part? Proposing a revolution?

The way of revolution.

As per you

"there are now plenty of educated and others within the middle class to be enough to drag a politician out of a car"

if they are educated, they wont do what you suggest and if they do, what social change you expect from this sort of educated goons? Isn't you are looking to change the mindset of the people, which tends toward might is right?

The educated must educate more and change the system with their power to vote. Treat the corrupt with legal weapons, pass on the example to follow for next generation.

Anarchy can only end an anarchy to create another one.

But they arent are they? Which is why I mentioned Animal Farm if you are familiar with the Orvellian novel.
The dragging out is what occurs when laws fail and the very idea of education degenerates into being able to use facebook and twitter.

drag a politician out of a car and beat him to death as an example. Start that regularly, and see how they all drop in line. I understand what I am proposing is anarchy, but in this case we have an elite class that needs a reminder that they dont own Pakistan by themselves.

The same goes for any Captain or Brigadier trying to bully their way through by using their uniform.
One day we will have to do that we. Will have to end that custom law only for those who can't buy it,the sonner the better for us and our next generation, otherwise mullahs, politicians nexus will destroy us like syria.

Haven't read, so may not be able to grasp the analogy.

Is that call to do a revolution was for facebook and twitter educated mob? What can be expected out of such revolution?

Again a rule of facebook educated goons?

Our education need a social and moral touch. Unless that happen, our academic institute will keep on churning out educated looters and hollow intellectuals. A revolution shall least be expected from them. Contrary, they will find space of their own in current corrupt order and strengthen the system.

Such people are best used as cloak to hide the rot beneath.

I suggest you read Animal Farm.. not just for this analogy..but to get a picture of the world in general.

Sure, if you insist.

The last I read, albeit a bit late to do that, was The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand.

Excellent stuff, but still recovering from philosophy and psychology overdose.

@Oscar Just did a check on the writer George Orwell and he is known as democratic socialist. I generally lock horns with both the words, the combination must be a cracker.

Islam is quite socialist in its design but lack the flexibility to be clear democratic. How do you see concept of democratic socialism implementable in Pakistan? Is it viable? If yes can it sustain?

We do not have any healthy example of such now a days. India until 1990 can be termed as such with genuine reservations, but that can not be marked as successful model. We move farther from socialism.

I have a feeling the end to this cat and mouse game between civ,mil is inevitable. NS has been labeled enemy and he will have to go in near future. The recent developments look like Pml.n wants to create Turkey like situation with civ armed forces pitted against Army. I think establishment has sensed this and will nip it in the bud.

A great read, I must agree on that. @-xXx- but it is not socialism to which @Oscar refers if I am not mistaken. It is, perhaps, an indication to the inevitability of one set being replaced by another, emulating the same abhorrent characteristics of the previous.

It shall be interesting to note what is the alternative though.

One can and one does. We are simply not strong enough to take on all that is corrupt in this country. Not yet, at least. There is a framework in place for reforms. The reforms will come through awareness and education. All that will need time.

Definitely not.

I just preempted and thought since writer is democratic socialist, his book may perhaps be advocating in same line. Thus queried about the viability of such system in Pakistan.

I need to read the book and perhaps then we can talk.

The only fear is when society is kept deprived of reforms and education by design. You may in that case never feel strong enough to revolt and keep on waiting for eternity.

@RAMPAGE

You have based your premise on education and awareness, a fallacy if I may contend. There is absolutely no correlation between education and success of any undertaking/project. Awareness may increase, but education and knowledge (awareness) does not ensure the attainment of objectives.

If I may, I shall simply give you the example of smoking and the massive campaigns being run on it. Awareness has increased, but has the incidence of lung cancer decreased commensurate to the effort? No. On the contrary, there is a rising trend of the same.

This is the best example of what I was trying to convey
