PM Modi to visit Israel later this year

Troublesome is ME not Israel we don't know which sect is going have a upper hand in this sectraian war thats about to blow up in whole ME. Israel is a peaceful democratic country. You didn't have to use so many words to explain or rather sugarcoat the Secular card.

Whether or not Israel is a peaceful country is a different discussion and not in the scope of this thread. And you didn't address how Israel (allegedly) fleeced India by providing 3-4 years old satellite imagery thereby seriously jeopardizing Indian forces in Kargil.

And no mate, let's not accuse each other of being secularists when we don't know enough about each other. If you had followed my posts, you would know that I am far from being a pseudo-secularist (and till very recently, a blind-bhakt of Israel).

Nevertheless, all I am saying is - let's deal with Israel based on rational and individual merits! Not simply to prove that we belong to the big boys' club!

Peace!

Ever heard about ICRISAT , its working in India for the past 30 years and its office is there in Hyderabad

The International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) is a non-profit, non-political organization that conducts agricultural research for development in the drylands of Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. Covering 6.5 million square kilometers of land in 55 countries, the semi-arid or dryland tropics has over 2 billion people, and 644 million of these are the poorest of the poor.

ICRISAT and its partners help empower these poor people to overcome poverty, hunger and a degraded environment through better agriculture. ICRISAT is headquartered in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, in India, with two regional hubs (Nairobi, Kenya and Bamako, Mali) and country offices in Niger, Zimbabwe, Malawi, and Mozambique.

ICRISAT conducts research on five highly nutritious drought-tolerant crops: chickpea, pigeonpea, pearl millet, sorghum and groundnut.

Scientists from the Indian national system observe some improved chickpea breeding lines during the Chickpea Scientists' Meet at ICRISAT-Patancheru.

sir, this institute is of no use for us farmers in our region our grand fathers grew better crops then these, what we need is system where we can use less water to grow more crops, water is precious, here for each acre of land there is 2 bore wells, where where as much as 60% are dried up and 20% bore wells pump up just 2 inches of water, it is here Israeli technology comes to help, it started in year 2000, now every farm here uses drip irrigation and sprinkler of Israeli design, our scientists has been getting more salary and less productivity, the very same scientists said you should use artificial fertilizers so the farmers used a lot of fertilizers now the lands have become infertile, now the same scientists are saying to the farmers to use compost manure, where our great grand father used compost manure and reaped better crops, these scientists have no idea of farming, useless people.

What i am saying here is just this that our scientists are capable of doing everything and are helping our farmers since decades. We become self sufficient in food production and even having our own 24x7 Kisan Channel , “Lab to the Land”. Kisan Channel would facilitate the farmers in providing information regarding the policy initiatives undertaken in the Agriculture sector and Water storage available in 91 important reservoirs of the country as on May 21, 2015 was 44.92 BCM which is 28% of total storage capacity of these reservoirs. This storage is 100% of the storage of corresponding period of last year and 135% of storage of average of last ten years. The present storage position during current year is equal to the storage position of last year but is better than the storage of average of last ten years. Rice is sown in 2015-16 as as per preliminary report is 1.80 Lakh hectors , sugarcane 40.18 lakhs hector.

As per 3rd Advance Estimates, the production of major crops during 2014-15 is as under:

Ø Foodgrains – 251.12 million tonnes
Rice – 102.54 million tonnes
Wheat – 90.78 million tonnes
Coarse Cereals – 40.42 million tonnes
Maize – 22.74 million tonnes
Pulses – 17.38 million tonnes
Tur – 2.71 million tonnes
Gram – 7.59 million tonnes

Ø Oilseeds – 27.38 million tonnes
Soyabean – 10.70 million tonnes
Groundnut – 6.64 million tonnes
Rapeseed & Mustard – 6.75 million tonnes

Ø Cotton – 35.32 million bales (of 170 kg each)
Ø Sugarcane – 356.56 million tonnes

Our Indian Scientists are doing all this since decades and we are working according to five year plan , so please dont discredit contribution and hard work of all these scientists.

Prime Minister of India is going to visit Jordan, Palestine and Israel according to the news article.

How Prime Minister of India will go to Ramallah ? As the Palestinian Authority headquarters is there in Ramallah. Will Prime Minister of India have to go through the Checkpoints similar like all the other leaders ?

.
PM's visit to Israel will give an impression that we(as in India) supports Israel on Palestine issue.....just saying.
India's relations with its partners cannot be held hostage to those with the better PR strategy. Does the US's extra-judicial War on Terror methodology affect India's ties with the US in any way shape or form?

You can't please everyone and ties with Israel are far more beneficial than anything the Palestinians can offer.

Countries like United States and India should work to safeguard the lifes of thier citizens and engage directly as both are biggest and largest democracies.

I dont understand why this extra importance is given to Israel when we all know that most of the UN resolutions are done by them.

For both United States and Republic of India relations with Arab world are important.

.
The best thing happened to India was when India established diplomatic relations with Israel
The second best thing is that we need to take the relationship in to an ultra strategic sphere, happy that MODI is taking the path, and for Palestine they can go to hell from the day their ambassador to Pakistan supported Kashmir terrorists
Israel and only arms? i don't believe it, we here in Karnataka and Andhra are so grateful for Israeli technology's in farming using drip irrigation and other types of irrigation using very less water as we in the region have a lot of water scarcity, without them there would have been only barren lands,
and India is having much weight in america because of Israeli pressure on america, many may believe it or leave it.

Awesome! This will go a long way in mitigating desertification and put the barren land to use - not to mention the economic benefits to the farmers.

@kadamba-warrior : Drip irrigation is not exactly rocket science.

Any idea that wants to develop it can given a little effort.

I know. But its not just about drip irrigation. It is not even about the sensory network that have been individualized for each plant.

Like I said, I think the most important part is the initiative to plant them in an otherwise-barren desert with some sort of drought tolerant saplings. If this takes off to all the arid regions of India (there are plenty in West, North-West and South-Central India), it has solutions to so many of our problems that it is hard to list them all.

First make enough nukes then talk of war. After nuclear war with Pakistan, there will be no India left inshaAllah and islam will live on.

You are an idiot.

Firstly, Pakistan will be totally vaporized after launching the first few nukes. Hundreds of millions of Indians will die, but Pakistan will be wiped out.

If a scenario occurs that Pakistan is able to launch hundreds of nukes and India responds with the same.

1) The radiation cloud would be so large that all the population in Pakistan, India ,Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal and all the nearby countries will be wiped out completely in a few days ( This probably includes around 600-700 million muslims)

2) A single nuke in Hiroshima blew a hole in the Ozone layer which still hasnt totally recovered. Hundreds of nukes used will blow an irreparable hole in the ozone layer.

3) The amount of dust blown into the atmosphere will cause a nuclear winter and billions of people in the world will die. Most regions of the planet will be inhabitable for dozens of years

Net Result: 1-2 billion people on Earth etc will survive along with maybe 100-200 million muslims and they'll pretty much inhabit a desolate nuclear wasteland planet. Poverty, Hunger, crop failures will wipe out more of them.

I'm sure it will be totally worth it .

Where did I say Pakistan will survive? Research says 2 billion people will die in indo pak war. But your are assuming Pakistan is the only place with Islam. So even if India and Pakistan get wiped out, Islam will live on.

What makes you think the last nuke India fires won't be on mecca and medina. There goes Islam.

Islam is limited to those two cities? You don't know anything about Islam. And doing so will make Hindus enemies of every Muslim and not just Pakistan, you don't want to imagine what they will do to the remaining Indian villages

How the hell will Islam live on if the planet is destroyed due to nuclear winter:rofl:?
