This can go both ways..i can ask you same question "what is your solution? other then war?" which can offer tangible results in case of Kashmir & Gilgit/Baltistan.

"idiocy about initiating war" do we have a choice? will India initiate and change status pro-quo with all purposes they are happy to maintain.

There is a word that is called describing PAF/Pakistan Armed Forces actions last year as "Pyrrhic victory" against with which we lost capability to influence Indian Occupied Kashmir.

JUST BECAUSE OF OUR OWN UNDERSTANDING OF GEO-POLITICS and we as Pakistanis will suffer of the consequence. LESSON in of been "indecisive" in handing a beating to enemy is costing us and will cost us dearly.

Sorry to jump in.. this is very simplistic analogy. In military affairs, Size can be a nuisance more than convenience!
In real life lot more parameters comes into play, one of which is training of soldiers and Pakistan army has been the most decorated army at international level, which is one major parameter!
As we speak, Indian army is executing a plan to cut short it's size, modernize it's hardware and update training of it's staff.
Besides this, all across the world history we have seen a far better adversary got defeated by a small smart force.
Some incidences of history, one man leadership changed the course of battles /wars.
Khalid bin Walid, Mohammad bin Qassim, Chengez Khan, Alexandar, Tariq bin Ziyad, Pervez Musharraf, are few coming to my mind.

I didn't refer to just size - I also mentioned better equipped in some areas and Pakistani military officers will be the first ones to tell you that their Indian counterparts are well disciplined and well trained.

By your yardstick we've been in a State of war ever since India refused to implement the UNSC Resolutions on J&K, which has been several decades.

J&K is disputed territory between India and Pakistan - that doesn't mean we have to have an ongoing full scale military conflict between both countries till one or the other gives up the disputed land.
