The Flight that go to the USA are required to land in England where the entire aircraft along with Passenger screening would be done. If Pakistan installed the latest screening machinery from US or Europe then they would be allowed to fly directly. The cost saving would be enough to bring the airline around from the red to atleast break even.
Totally agree as is the case with some Gulf Countries where even Pakistanis who travel to USA or Europe through any Gulf carrier are screened at the same very airport in the country to which the carrier belongs, thus saving ample amount of time and money.True PIA needs to be downsized but one must also consider other things not just employees. PIA flies to Europe and back. These flights normally are planed from Karachi via Lahore or Islamabad and the same way on the return. These landing and take-off also cost high amounts of money. People do not know this hence they think it is profitable this way.

LOL if going for future planes thn why not 777-9x? much less operating cost thn 350-1000...For Pakistan and Pakistani people fuel efficient, less maintence cost
A350-1000 (The 366-seater shapes efficiency with 25 per cent operating costs savings compared to its direct competitor) is not better option than too much costly boeing 777.
How can we guarantee that the customs will do their work without any pressure from the corrupt politicians ?
5 B777-300ER that are on ordered by PIA a few years back were supposed to be delivered from this year but there are some delays expected (reasons not known) and they will be now coming in a few years later. If PIA is intending to 10 new B777's then they might be for the replacement of A-310's that PIA currently operates and are now more than 20 years old. The new Aviation policy caps the minimum age that an aircraft can be used as a public transport at 20 years from the date of manufacture.LOL if going for future planes thn why not 777-9x? much less operating cost thn 350-1000...
right not best option is for a-320/21 and 777. infact we have already ordered around 5 777-3 and i can only wish if PIA transfer that order to 777-9 and meanwhile lease some 777-3
Why not boeing 787 which is latest tech cost and fuel effective pakistan should not stuck on one aircraft
A-380 operation in Pakistan can only be done from Islamabad new International Airport. All the other Airports in Pakistan need to be upgraded if A380's are to be used.Few atleadt 2 A 380 should be bought which fly from khi via dubai to london other from lahore via dubai to new york im sure it will give more boom to pia becoz people will go full on pia
That issue has been solved...Now it uses the same battery as B777's.Airbus A350 has much latest technology.
Because 787 had some technical issues in the past and was grounded for few months due to lithon iron battery faults.
yesIs there maintenance facility will be built in Pakistan or the planes have to move to another country where facility is??
Is there any maintenance facility of civilian aircraft in Pakistan?
lolz how much let me book one if the discount is 99.9999% honestly
