Well ... yes how to make it profitable

Well you can solve the problem by looking at the Report

This is from page Page 10 of 49 PIA report, OFFICIAL STATEMENT ON THEIR REPORT and with gov of Pakistan for all Tax purpose !!!

Revenue PIA = 863,000 USD only not even Million Dollars


Expenses on Fuel : 365,038 (Depends on Market fuel cost)
Expenses on Other : 416,985 (almost half a million for expenses)

So profit shown was a mere
90,624 (What 1 guy makes in USA) So this is our crown jewl corporation Pride of our country it functions for 1 year (9 months in this reports ) and makes just 90,000 dollars

Then all other expenses and costs like money exchange etc is
130,000 USD (About less then cost of Ferrari car)


So here is the situation , the company is making about 90,000 dollars but it wants the gov to invest 10 billion dollars to save it ?

My question is

a) Less then 1 Million dollar in revenue? WTF ? Thats it ???

b) Also when you are making such less what are these other expenses
that take up 60% of your profit ?


The problem is the numbers don't add up
The reports says the company made revenue of 800,000? Right

How much it costs to fly UK to Pakistan ? 1500 usd / person
so that means 533 passengers ALL OVER WORLD TO GIVE IT REVENUE OF 800,000 ONLY

How much ppl fly in 1 PIA flight ?? well 200 passengers? So do you guys see the problem ??

The reports says it made Revenue of 800,000 USD , and that means 533 ppl flew on the planes @ 1500 USD / Person

So this report is FALSE !!!

There are 52 weeks in Year , PIA flyes weekly from UK to Pakistan weekly

150 passengers x 1500 USD X 52 = 11 Million Dollars from UK flights
7,800 passengers at least in year

There are 52 weeks in year , PIA flies weekly from USA to Pakistan

150 passengers x 1800 USD X 52 = 14 Million Dollars from USA 7,800 passengers at least in yearThere are 52 weeks in year , PIA flies weekly from Canada to Pakistan

So almost 23,000 passengers fly between 3 routs - while PIA claims only 533 passengers use its services in whole year so they make mere 800,000 revenue net

So by My calculations

PIA should be making 39,000,000 Million United States Dollars from
just 3 routes (New York - Karachi), (Toronto , Islamabad) , (London, Karachi)

So why is their report stating they made profit of only 90,000 dollars?
What bullshiaaaaaat????

Even if cost of catering and food is 400,000 USD but they made 40 million dollars from 3 international flights ....which always run FULL


Now I did not even add the flights from Pakistan - Middle east
I did not even add flights from Pakistan to Europe
I did not even add flights from Pakistan to Asia

So the problem is PIA has to be Audited on # of Tickets being sold vs what is being reported on books and has to be brought to court

The claim they only flew 500-600 passengers in year making profits 800,000 usd
while we all know 22,000 passengers fly between just 3 routes yearly

They really need to be brought to court I mean god , hiding profits of 40+ Million / year
and reporting only a profit of 90,000 dollar and that is also a lost due to gov tax ...

Problem's solution is simple

If I believed their lies , then we can still make profits
Based on above data any sensible person can see - what kind of bull **** their corporate report states 90,000 dollars profit ? After 9 months ? What are they doing running empty planes or flying ppl for free


But below meassures are not needed ... that was if no one was flying on PIA but I know PIA flights run full all the time

A) Ticket Prices have to go up by 10%

b) Food and other expenses have to be cut down
Food has to be made optional - You purchase
Mean on Airplane (30$ per passenger)

c) Extra money for extra bag (Only 2 bags allowed)


What needs to be done is Supreme court of Pakistan need to get a comitee that will ask all the tickets issued in year 2010 , and get verification of people who travelled in 2009-2010
and get rounded values of passengers that flew using PIA in international routes frist , and then also audit the local routs

PIA is hiding some serious TAX money from Government of Pakistan -
They must be hiding at least 70 million dollars US DOLLARS

And for past 10 years , 70 million x 10 = 700 million dollars in un declared taxes on this amount

I mean come on a biryani shop makes profit of 90,000 usd / year or 1 guy works full time in high post makes that much ... 1 person we are talking about a CORPORATION WITH 42 planes world wide service saying it makes just 90,000 usd ?? what ??? in the god's name where is the MONEY GOING ?? Its common sense , all the international flights are booked and full thru out the year always 100% booked and sometimes you also need to book in advance so for anyone to say that

they made revenue of just 800,000 only is bull crap , that means only 533 passengers flew and me and you all know how many ppl fly each year on PIA

They are reporting it as Loss so they don't have to pay gov TAX and that is tax evasion and theft -....

I bothered to read it and luckily there had calculations done in USD amount in page 10 on column and I was astonished at the level of curruption !!!

To claim only 533 ppl used PIA so they made just 800,000 USD in 9 months

While we all know just 3 routs make them 23,000 passengers = 49 million united states dollars and not less then million dollar as they claim choor- Big choori


or the plan is to sell this Entity too to some one for 100 million dollars ? or 50 million dollars ? hain ? This is such a clear choori bazi .... its just insane

U571 I am talking simple math , if I see with my eyes ,
Each week 150-160 passengers fly daily between Western destinations and Pakistan , that is like 21,000 passengers for just 3 routs

And based on PIA financial statement - they claim only 500 passengers bought tickets for 9 month ... so they made only 800,000 USD ?

There is a big difference , 49,000,000 Million USD and 800,000 USD

And on top of this they claim - ok because of gov tax PIA went in -ve balance , first choori and then blame the gov too.

Either - the tickets are being sold black market channel
Or the funds are being redirected to Swiss accounts for political party's usage etc

Likely .. the culprits are high members in PIA and they have authority to issue tickets to their own vendors internationally , they don't declare these tickets in financial statement calculations so any profits are made over seas and put in forigne bank account directly with out that cash every entering pakistan

A company which flies 21,000 passengers annually (365 days) a year makes 49,000,000 million dollars USD - and not 800,000 USD

Also they are not only stealing from Pakistan Tax collection authorities they are also telling the investors , we will not pay you dividends on your shares for PIA !!!

For 10 last years PIA is saying they are losing cash ?? How ?? IMPOSSIBLE ...

If planes are running FULL CAPACITY you need to prebook by 1-2 months time .... NO PIA is making money they are just not declaring that MONEY !!!

What I expected to see was ...ok we made 49,000,000 USD as profits , and then we had expenses due to plane lease or fuel or expenses

But fuel cost was only 200,000 usd ...

The biggest lie is that , we only made 800,000 USD profit ? like how ... every ticket you sell is like 1500 USD at least the ones from North America to Pakistan and England to Pakistan al expensie tickets ....


If cost of PIA ticket is 30$ / flight then ok I would understand .. they made $800,000 so we know its not true ....

And there is no dount in my mind someone is stealing money from GOV .... in PIA and they should really investigate or shut this company down

They declared that wages , and all operational cost is
360,000 USD annually

They claimed 340,000 USD on fuel but they are lieing on the profits from ticket sales -
they are selling 24,000 - 40,000 tickets globally and yet only declaring
that they sold about 500 tickets ...

There is no loop hole that is just plain theft

My personal opinion is that some choors are planning a take over of PIA and they want to give an image of PIA as a non profit company untill gov sells it cheap for 100 million ....

While in reality it is making 40-50 million dollars yearly but these income is not being declared and is being channeled out to political parties or someone

Freaking gov entity ... currupt officers selling tickets on blackmarket and claiming no one is flying in PIA all the freaking flights are books out for months --- all the time ... and yet they claim revenues of just 90,000 usd ? what a joke ...

When PIA sells 500 tickets they make 800,000 USD ...

In reality the Newyork/toronto/london to Paksitan routes sell over 24,000 tickets it should be 49,000,000 million USD .. profits for gov

PIA really needs to replace Boeing 737's and Boeing 747.
My suggestion will be to buy new Boeing 737 around 6-7 and lease around 5 relatively new Boeing 747's.Remaining fleet is in good condition.9 Boeing 777 as well as 7 ATR's are new. It is important to replace B747 B737.B747 is crucial for providing high capacity whenever required.Like after Iceland volcanic eruption PIA used B747 on European routes to clear back log.B747 also come in handy during hajj operations.B737 are crucial for domestic routes and need to be replaced quickly.

Last but most important for once run PIA as a business and not as dumping place for PPP jiyala's

It would be quite Profitable for PIA to fly from Australia to Pakistan and let Qantas fly from Pakistan too.

i dont think that airline like Qantas will ever operate to pakistan again and i have same feelings for BA virgin atlantic and any other american airline. In past few years many of airlines cutted back from pakistan like BA Lfthansa and Singapore airlines. i have a feeling that Cathay to will leave pakistan soon:cry::cry::cry:

does anyone knows which planes are the going to order all i heard was they are in need of freighters, 737-800 or a320/a321 and 747-8i

The 310's have been recently refurbished..and will soldier on for another 5 years or so.
Its the 737's that need replacement.. and if they had the money.. or they might use the usual lend lease system..the best option is to buy more 737's.. the -700..
So that crew training expenditure is kept to a minimum.

Excellent post - Even Gulf and Malaysian were begun with PIA talent -- the problem is not the Talent but that PIA is a GOVT entity, it is not run as if it was a business, where as Emirates, Gulf and Malaysian, are run like businesses -- that's why I am a strong proponent of letting private sector do what it does best, govt does not need to be in business, it can regulate it certainly but not run it.

Like other govt run entities in Pakistan, PIA produces only losses, it's time we came out of this socialist mind set and the "Awaam this and Awaam that BS. We should be running PIA asa business and not as a tool of politicians.

What do you mean - its a GOV entity liable in court for if they don't pay taxes !!!!
Its board of directors and every one can be sued in courts if they don't pay gov taxes and they don't report their ticket sales correctly which they are NOT !!! doing


What should this enity be given to some business man ??

Its making 52 million dollar plus per year profits why should it be sold its lieing to ppl about proifts and business it doing it has to be uncovered

The haji thread states from multan alont 4700 passengers will go do hajj

here it states 450 passngers going o Hajj can you do the math ??

Each one is paying $500 at least for ticket

4700 passengers x $627.566 USD = 2 , 937, 500
Almost 3 million dollar income


Plus as we know 49 Million dollars calculated from three routs Newyork,Toronto , London See the economy section and the PIA asking for more planes thread where their lies are exposed
So its 49 Million dollar stolen from Pakistan Tax Ravenue on Three routes , Toronto- Karachi , London - Karachi , New York - Karachi

And 3 million dollars stoen from Pakistan Tax Revenue on Haji tickets sales


Can you see the problem ??? They claim on tax filing that they only made Net Profit of 800,000 USD only

And after fuel cost it was only 90,000 USD only ..???

Where is the other 52,000,000 Million United States dollars ?? Going ??

PIA you need to pay taxes !!!!

Here we have this ORGANIZATIOn stealing almost 49,000,000 Million dollars !!! Not rupees dollars , and then its claiming it only makes profit of mere 90,000 USD ?

We need to write up to supreme court and inform them to please investigate PIA curruption

And muse.. there have been many attempts at privatizing PIA.. but there are powerful unions in PIA that prevent it.. and most of them have support from the current government.

Well I passed on the information to a lawyer/judge operates a law firm locally and asked him if he can pass the information to Superme court judges for review -

There see its not hard to fight curruption you just report it when you can simple !!! and painless I hope we recover the lost 53 million USD and also account for lost money for last 10 years from PIA choors


Zaberdust drama bazi ... flying so many passengers and claiming they only fly 500-600 passengers in year based on their revenue reported they should be properly investigated -

They probbly did not report 600 million dollars in last 8 years

600 Million recovred will help us get few squadrons of JF17 thudners or J10B

As fro the new planes for PIA they should open their swiss banks and check if they can afford to pay lease for 10 planes and stop pestering gov of Pakistan

Aid money is for Dams in country PIA has enough cash its not a biryani house that makes 80,000 USD / year
