After LINEBACKER 2, US had to withdraw its troops coz they lost so many B-52 and their pilots refused to fight any more war wt VN.

I would think China prefers to follow a more gradual process and not fall into an arms race that could hinder its development and economic progress. Moreover, China's security concerns are in its own immediate neighborhood right now where it could project power with minimal resistance from its adversaries.

Use could have invade north Vietnam during Vietnam war. I would be against Vietnam war. But if we are going to send troops there and fight a war, than US should had invaded north Vietnam and win the war instead of fighting not to lose.
