Jammu and Kashmir is the only Indian state permitted to fly its own state flag though Jammu and Kashmir has a separate constitution. This is due to the state's special status under the Indian Constitution.

The flag is based on that of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, a political party of J&K. Hari Singh, the earlier Dogra ruler from Jammu advocated the accession of the former Princely State of Jammu and Kashmir into the Indian Union.

For your information each American state has its own flag and its own constitution, that does not make any of them any less American, why should be so for J&K and India.

Certain level of autonomy has been given by constitution of India to people of J&K, but do not mistake our compassion as a weakness of our resolve towards the state.

Btw do you know what is, the article 1 of Constitution of J&K?

"Article 1 of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir states that the State of Jammu and Kashmir is and shall be an integral part of the Union of India"

But they are joining security forces too and they are also fighting with militants. And Kashmir youth joining security forces are far greater in numbers than those who are joining militants. They have joined militants in past too and now they are returning back to Indian Kashmir without any gain. Infact they all have ruined their youth and now they are struggling for Job.

No step is ever enough if the people are occupied by a foreign power. The invader must just leave or be expelled.
