Was in Istanbul a few weeks ago. I would defintely recomend it to any tourist. There is something there for everybody. From the nightlife party lovers to the religious people wanting to vist shrines of holy men. We went paintballing, went to shisha(nargile) cafes to watch the euro 2012 matches, visited the shrine of hazret Ayub Ansari. It really was an amazing experiance. The best part for me was the dua in Sultan Ahmet (blue mosque) on the Isha prayers on the night of Miraj Sharif. Was very surprised to hear the imam making such an emotional dua in which Kashmir and Pakistan came in several times.

That's a comment I'd expect from an American (who hasn't seen anything from the world), just kidding

Some regions are more developed than others of course (like China), but they are developing fast.
