I know what you are hinting towards, considering you are an Urdu-speaker, but there isn't a thing called "Muhajir nationalism" or "Punjabi Nationalism" both of those nationalism movements culminated towards Tehreek-e-Pakistan.

Pakistani nation failed because of Sindhi ethnonationalism. Baloch ethnonationalism was just a reaction to state antics.

Punjabi/Sindhi/Pathans/Balouch have done more damage to Pakistan than Natural Disaster/India/USA/Dajjal combined. Pakistani's aka sons of Soils always have hard time accepting other Ethnicities, they way they treated Urdu Speaking people, Bihari's, Bangali's etc its a testimony that sons of soils are Racists/backward tribal people who are eating Pakistan alive.

The biggest tragedy of Hoodbhoy is that a trained physicists' only claim to fame is his ill-conceived, shallow, myopic and ouright ignorant diatribes on subjects where his aperture and depth of knowledge is no broader than Maqsood the plumber. Heck even Maqsood the plumber is probably more connected to the zeitgeist and pulse of prevailing cultural undercurrents and the realities of everyday life than this pseudo intellectual. Hoodbhoy has no business passing off his idiotic musings on sociology, theology and history.

A man with a Ph. D. in Physics from MIT is billion times better thinker than a plumber. That expressing opinions about statecraft should be the exclusive purview of (almost) functionally illiterate politicians is a fallacy. Of course, it is a tragedy that people like Dr. Hoodbhoy have no place in a nation's leadership but taking umbrage at him for expressing opinions is ridiculous.

Nationalism is a lion, as long you sit on top you will be one of the bravest men if you fall this lion annihilate you. Nationalism slogan always gives pain at the end. I believe in the One nation policy in the context of Pakistan. Where we have Punjabi, Sindhi, Baluchi, and Pashtun Nationalists, when all pointing fingers at each other when talking about their rights and co-existance.

I imagine a country where you can be Punjabi, Sindhi, pakhtun, Baluch, Gilgit, saraiki, Urdu speaking - where you have pride in your culture and people

But at the same time you're a pakistani nationalist

As pakistani identity Is made up of all these sub identities , literally you make up pakistan- pakistan compliments your identity

2 of our army chiefs were Urdu speakers and 1 became a dictator- bajwas closest nut buddy who is helping him f up pakistan rn is also Urdu speaking
2 of our army chief's were pakhtun and one became a dictator, he was a good dictator but very racist

Rest of the generals are mix of Punjabi Pathan IE Imran Khan, Hamid Gul type's and potohari Rajput

Central Punjabis have low requirement rates Afaik

In Punjab all the top spots go to Kashmiri punjabi due to PMLn and from what I heard from someone from KPK since CM is from swat, people from swat have it better

Its worse in Sindh, I visited the Larkana, Jamshoro many times and its just Sindhi's everywhere, and in every Govt post there is a Jahil Sindhi pholoro sitting only because he can speak Sindhi.

You are well intentioned, but Pakistani identity runs contrary to ethnic identity. Pakistani identity seeks to destroy ethnic identity, and basically harp on Arab/Afghan history while using Mughal culture. The national language is Urdu, which is from India. It is also why Pakistan studies claims Bin Qasim as the first Pakistani. Pakistani is only a nationality like American, Canadian, Australian.

Pakistani identity can't also be made up of these sub identities as those sub identities existed for thousands of years before Pakistan even existed. The only thing each of the groups have with each other is Islam and Urdu lol.

There is no such thing as Pakistani nationalism as Pakistani nationalists themselves are confused on what Pakistan even stands for.

Pashtuns, Punjabis, and Urdu speakers make up the bulk of PTI.

Ethnic politics run rampant in Sindh and Balochistan.

I think if the Pashtun and the Punjabi unite and take along other nationalities, they can rule the region from beyond Amu Darya to Sutlej. Marriages between Pashtun and Punjabi are economically beneficial as in Pashtuns the boy's side bears most of the financial burden, while in Punjab the girls side bears the cost of Jahez. By marrying amongst each other, they can share the cost of marriage equally. Already we have integration in bureaucracy and army. Racially also both are Arian tribes. This could make for a win-win situation. Already there are Punjabi-Pathan in large numbers in Punjab.
