Perturbed Indians keeping an Eye on Our Enhanced Air Defences

LY-80 is the best we've got? Man we need to do better than this. Put some ballistic missiles there for God's sake.

he is from Italy.
Does not matter, he is still an Indian. Another one from him ,this time very watchful in the South.

Sorry, but wherever he is from, he has better credibility in the OSINT world than the PDF experts.:) Also, among the wanna be osints from Pakistan who can't differentiate between solar panels and radars. lol

No they dont.

Big deal, these were/are publicly displayed during every defence day.. hardly a secret.

Since the last few months i have been witnessing a great deal of panic in the Indian Defence Analytical and Establishment fora, on our Enhanced air defence capabilities along the border. They are constantly keeping an eye on the deployment of our assets. Their perplexity ranges from our constant re deployments, unknown capabilities of our assets, their effectiveness in electronic warfare and countering counter measures mechanisms.
Although India is buying the Russian S400 Sam systems, the deployment of the humble LY80/HQ16A SAM systems has just made them SLEEPLESS!!!

Whatever Pakistan has done to improve the air defences along the border, has certainly not made the Indian planners very happy. We will not mind handing back again another pilot/pilots if the situation arises!!!:pakistan::pakistan::pakistan:

Handing pilots back is becoming a chore. Kargil and feb 27. I think we have to increase the price of our tea. Clearly they are willing to pay a mig 21

There goes Indian claims that Pakistan is so weak that Pakistani military and weapons are irrelevant for them .
Indian harp this mantra all over the internet.
About Indian S-400 and Pakistani LY-80.
One is deployed and integrated, the other is yet to be bought, troops trained and integrated into defence planning.
That's a huge difference.

Ballistic missile for air defence?

Insufficient range.40 KM range against aircraft is not enough against modern PGM unless you have longer range SAMs to provide you layered cover or can ambush ingressing opponent using terrain cover.

The problem with shorad or medium range is not its range it is designed to be that way integrating to mobile platforms. The problem in my opinion is its radar + its short range. Manpads for example are very short range but totally passive systems creating huge risk for low flying helicopters. Russian systems for example pantsyr are made to be powerful to detect low rcs targets but noisy-powerful radar can be detected from very far away making the systems prone to jamming and other anti radar options. Shorad should mainly specialize in taking out pgms , cruise missiles maybe within 20km range with multiple engagement capability. LPI-lower energy radar is a must for such a system. Within short range stealth advantage is nullified.

Medium range batteries should be combined with shorads as these will be located by drones and targeted continiously so they should be on the move almost continiously. LY80 batteries of Pakistan seem to be mobile enough and its range is suitable especially when the radars are queued and activated by early warning radars behind.

For long range systems long wavelength early warning radar + sending interceptor planes seem to be the best bet after seeing S300 vulnurabilities making those more suitable for abm type of role instead of general aerial defense. Low band radars should be enough to send interceptors including low rcs targets. Also larger antenna means in order to pick the signal and localize it, jam it, the opposing antenna on the plane or sensors on the anti radiation missile should be much larger and not very applicable.

Bhai Indians ki raaton ki neendein Haraam hui vi hain, keeping an eye is an understatement. They are planning a shararat for sure, counting on their new french procurements. But dobara drawing room ki hawa kha jayein ge. InshAllah

Make feel happy thread!

Do you know when agreement done for s400 and which year?

And I don't find any big achievement of Pakistan against the India during the war in 70 years. Then, why should we need to be feared?

It is only a matter of time that all layered defense systems are controlled via AI for quick response and actions. Even the vehicles, land or aerial or water, carrying Mobile defense systems will become semi to fully autonomous within 10 to 15 years. China is ahead in the game and I hope that Pakistan Military is learning from China and implementing similar AI strategies.
