People from India, China out-educating Americans in maths and technology: Barack Obama

When presented with facts, you sidestepped to writing personal opinion as your case for argument. No wonder India came last in PISA test. The infamous indian IQ

The avergae IQ derived from the results of two of India´s TOP regions that participated PISA 2009 Plus tests is about 74! See Anatoly´s analysis posted above.

Anatoly´s might not be very accurate but not too far from the truth. So India´s 81 IQ may still prove to be an optimistic upper end estimation by Lynn.

.
there is only one way to do well in any exam in China. The one who copies the most gets the top most university.

if the kids are not allowed to copy, the parents can sue the local govt for unfair competitive advantage to other Chinese kids.

then the state govt. accepts its mistake and says sorry next time we will allow everyone to copy.

that's the level and reality of Chinese education. Copying is not considered a sin, infact copying is the birth right of every Chinese. More he copies more he scores. :D:eek:

the average Chinese IQ has to be good. Infact they cannot make anything original. So obviously their IQ is very high.

Pathetic indian education as manifested by their reality-check at PISA :

First they looked promising:

“It is India Time — India will participate in the next PISA test
(Program for International Student Assessment) — for the first time. There have been a number of new educational initiatives that have made this possible. One of the major programs was explained to me by Sridhar Rajagopalan (Head of Educational Initiatives), a man on a mission to revolutionize the way Indians and others think about learning.”

what facts? that 12 professors were caught doing palgiarism? so do you expect zero people to copy in India.

See below for FACTS. Copying is allowed by Govt. Even the local govt. conceeded that they did mistake by not allowing the kids to copy. LOL LOL

"According to the protesters, cheating is endemic in China, so being forced to sit the exams without help put their children at a disadvantage"

local government conceded that "exam supervision had been too strict and some students did not take it well".

Maybe they should have allowed them to copy 80% of the answers. So that supervision is fairly strict and for fair competition with other Chinese kids.:D

12 professors were just a summary to highlight how bad plagiarism is in India, not only Indian students cheated, your professor from elite institutions cheated, the dean cheated, even the science advisor to the Prime Minister cheated. Everyone from students to dean cheated, the entire system cheats, LOL
India is the superpower of plagiarism LOL

The thing is that Indians prepare exams such as IIT, GATE, GRE, GMAT and other medical and engineering tests to a point that defies rationality . I am sure if Indians starting concentrating on test such as PISA, they would beat the test hands down.

Typical caste thinking and I don't even expect you to understand why I said so. ;)

the more anyone laughs at the Chinese education system, the less it is. :):D

anyways congrats for the hight PISA scores. Meanwhile what is the next product China's high IQ and high PISA score kids copying?

lol

I once Met a Chinese university topper who was also a finance lecturer. That guy took admission in a finance MBA programme and guess what, the Indian IT professionals who had never studies finance left this university topper from China behind in all the finance subjects comfortably.

that's a zero finance knowledge guy compared to a university topper of China.

Tamil Nadu is among the best states in India for education. That's why your government choose it. You're free to send any students from any states, but India pulled out from the PISA testing

Secondary school education is not Phd research. It does NOT require much facilities. Just a classroom with table and chairs, black board and chalks, textbooks and teachers.

India has some of the best engineers and doctors in America. No wonder India has bad medical facilities and technologies as the best and brightest of Indians are in the west.

The 25 Countries With The Most Brainpower

Which country has the largest stock of brilliant people? The answer to this question depends in part on raw brainpower, but also on the size of a country.

Exclusively for Business Insider, Dr. Jonathan Wai, a Duke University Talent Identification Program research scientist and psychologist, compiled a new ranking of countries based on scores on the 2009 PISA assessment, which tests reading, math, and science competency in 15-year-olds.

Multiple researchers have found that these tests, administered by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), are a good measure of "g," or general intelligence.

In our list, the rank order is based on two things. First, we identified the average percentage of teenagers in each country who achieved the top score of six on math or verbal tests (globally, around the 98th percentile). Second, we cross-referenced this percentage with population to estimate the number of brilliant people per country.

This provides a new way of looking at the raw brainpower of each country, not counting the significant effects of immigration and emigration.

If you looked only at average scores, you’d find the U.S. is only ranked 24th, near the middle of the pack. But if you then take into account the high-scoring right tail and population, the U.S. is not doing so bad.

Note that we're not including China on this list. Not every student in China was assessed, but only a few cities. And the result was that Shanghai in particular was a large outlier. Shanghai represents a tiny fraction of China's population, is a migration hub that attracts elites, and is much wealthier than the country as a whole. 84% of Shanghai's high school students go to college, while 24% do nationwide. Parents in Shanghai also spend a great deal of money on external tutoring, which an average worker couldn't afford.

It's not representative of China as a whole.

If Shanghai were included on its own, it would rank third on this list. If the scores in China as a whole were even near the international average, the country as a whole would rank first, given the sheer size of the population.

Below are the countries with the most brain power, noting the average percentage getting the top score on PISA tests, and the the estimated number of brilliant people.
