i fully agree with u.But we have to secure our country first. This can be done at some stage later on.
A lot has been said about attitude of afghans, but remember, the country had been at war for decades. This change a lot of things.Education plus economic uplift changes lives/attitudes.

They're not?

Solomon2 why do you resort to such a one liner, if you have a solid point countering what Abu Zolfiqar said then by all means make it clear.

Having seen the impact of Afghan war firsthand i really want to know what new perspective you have to offer.

What sort of advantage has Pakistan gained from the massive Afghan refugee influx it had to bear with?

In America immigrants add to our cultural diversity and are eager, willing, and able to do jobs that other Americans are unwilling to do. Immigrants often have to build lives from the ground up. They keep the rest of us on our toes, and provide a good example of just how much a person can accomplish here, if they are sufficiently motivated and skilled to do so.

Am I to understand the Pakistani experience is totally different?

The experience has to be different considering what sort of immigrants are coming in and under what conditions...
whereas certain Afghans did add value in terms of entrepreneurship...most were uneducated, destitute and many were involved in lots of criminal activities...a bitter and desperate people due to struggling in such war ravaged land...many Afghan drug gangs and other such organized syndicates came in and established their hold...

I like Afghans and do not hate any nationality or religion for that matter...Afghans were war victims and were given aid by Pakistanis and mostly many of us donated as well so its not like Pakistan has only given them home...it gave them monetary assistance as well...sadly the skill level was not of the magnitude to add a lot of value...but i do not deny that many laborers etc were available and contributed as well...
However the smuggling, drugs and gangs made sure that instead of overall positive contribution of Afghans to the economy...it became a big problem for Pakistan...and grave source of embarrassment to Pakistanis

Even before all this nonsense of Taliban and extremism...the Pakistani passport carriers were subjected to special treatment...reason being the high amount of drug trafficking by Afghans who were given Pakistani Nationality...

I do understand the key strength of USA in its immigrants but the situation in Pakistan was quite different...a sad tale indeed.
