Ansar Abbasi (publishing it in Geo Groups papers) and Iftikhar Ahmed (pushing it everywhere) are trying their best to achieve what Absar Alam, and Najam Sethi achieved by firing on SCP by planting stories of supposed WhatsApp calls between Registrar SCP and Heads of SECP and SBP.

Govt., is in a hurry to pack up and fight it out in elections as long drawn legal battle has dampened the party cadres and revolt is knocking on the door as majority of MNAs are angry that they are being used as human shield for $harifs.

As politicians; $harifs are running out of options; and whatever viable options are left; are more of compromise ones and not the first choice ones; and with each passing day, lesser and less viable options will be left; they have to decide before JIT gets too close to decision.

Their only wild card now is; Noon league Reconciliation Order- NRO!

I hope so too - it's (NRO) always an outside possibility - change saturation can dictate certain things; international players want weakest and most compromised Govt in Pak more than ever. NS fits the bill perfectly.

Yes, I know, but Pakistan has moved out of that influence now. Good or bad, now the decisions will be made inside Pakistan. The recent humiliation NS faced in KSA speaks volumes about it. Pakistan is growing more independent day by day thanks to the independent media and IK's untiring efforts, people of Pakistan are much more aware of their rights, they also know which politician has his/her control/master(s) outside of Pakistan and they also keep an eye on the establishment. In the past, this information was simply not available to the people. The decision were made outside of Pakistan and thrusted upon the ignorant nation but not any longer.

Thus the recent compromise on the dawn-leaks resulted in the bashing of the establishment. The people who used to claim that nobody dares criticize the on duty COAS were proven wrong and liars by the patriotic Pakistanis like us. Thus now even the establishment is cautious and knows any such NRO will result in an extremely intense backlash and they will not be able to escape that even if they hide behind armored plates.

We should just remember that it is not the army but the nation that defends its freedom and sovereignty. It was recently proven by the Turkish people when they failed the coup. A lot of western countries with much smaller militaries than Pakistan are far more independent than us because those nations are very clear about it. They know that army/establishment are subservient to the country/nation and not the other way around.

JIT grills Hussain Nawaz for three hours

ISLAMABAD: The joint investigation team (JIT) formed to the probe the Panama Papers case interrogated Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s son Hussain Nawaz for almost three hours on Tuesday.

This was the second time Hussain appeared before the JIT to record his statement in the Sharif family’s financial dealings.

He reached the Federal Judicial Academy at around 11am which was bustling with reporters. The lawmakers and supporters of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) welcomed him on his arrival there.

“I appeared before the JIT even though I am fasting and will do so again if summoned,” the prime minister’s son told reporters after recording his statement.

Hussain said he had submitted all the documents that were sought and answered all the questions asked by the team. “However, I was made to wait for two hours,” he added.

When asked about the attitude of the two members of the JIT against whom he had raised objections, Hussain replied: “Leave this issue for now but I can again take it up with the Supreme Court again if needed.”

Hussain had appeared before the JIT on Sunday too but according to a leaked summon, he had not taken along the required documents.

National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) President Saeed Ahmad also reached the complex at around 11am and recorded his statement before the JIT ahead of Hussain.

Sources privy to the development told The Express Tribune that Ahmad appeared before the JIT first.

The recording of his statement started at 11:10am and continued till 1:30pm followed by Hussain whose statement was recorded till 4:30pm.

PML-N ministers including Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Maiza Hameed, Danial Aziz, Hanif Abbasi and Senator Chaudhry Tanvir and Islamabad Mayor Sheikh Ansar and PM’s political secretary Asif Kirmani were also present at the complex to “morally support” Hussain.

Arrival of ambulance

Two-and-a-half hours after the JIT headed by Federal Investigation Agency Additional Director General (Immigration) Wajid Zia started its proceedings, an ambulance arrived at the JIT headquarters making reporters and camerapersons rush to the scene and quiz the doctor sitting inside.

A doctor, who introduced himself as Omar, told the reporters that they were directed to reach the complex.

Later, it was found that the ambulance was called for the NBP president who was feeling unwell.

On Monday, the apex court had rejected the objections raised by Hussain over two members of the JIT.

Ejaz Afzal Khan, the head of a three-judge special bench, also observed that the Supreme Court would not remove any member of the JIT on the basis of mere suspicions.

Another member of the bench, Justice Azmat Saeed Sheikh, wondered why the Sharif family was targeting just two members who had expertise in investigating white-collar crimes.

When Khawaja Haris, , the counsel for Hussain, complained about the behaviour of the JIT members, Justice Azmat remarked that the Sharif family had been summoned for interrogation and “not to a tea party”.

The three-member bench of the SC was formed to ensure implementation of its April 20 verdict in the Panamagate case. The bench directed the JIT to continue its job in an independent and fair manner.
