I agree to the points that you mentioned, the points mentioned in that column in BBC you referred me to. I mean, there is no denying that this is a possibility. However, please note that there Is a very very important factor that these things are missing. PTI. You do not expect Imran Khan to sit back and relax while JIT is formed and filled with pro-NS elements. To be honest, I do not see even SC doing that. For me, the verdict is a very carefully drafted one. As you said, if it had suspended NS it would have been a reason for him to cry foul. To play victim, AGAIN plus it was not really within SC authority to five such a decision, that would have looked all wrong and messy and would have created a lot of trouble, all for nothing as any acting PM would have carried forward the agenda of NS anyway. A suspension was more of a “feel good” value than any practical value. So in this case, what else were we expecting?
There were talks of a commission, a possibility that we discussed for weeks. The JIT though is quite different but it have been presented with some straight forward questions and have been given some pretty obvious points to work on. Yes the court could have answered all that itself but what then? What should it have done then because as we mention, suspension would have been of little good practically. So the right way would be, for me, to take the whole system apart and that can be done slowly and following all legal steps to avoid any foul play and anarchy.
So yes, while I do agree that asking the institution that have been ridiculed and mentioned as incompetent by the same judges to investigate the matter further do not makes much sense, I cannot see any other way either. Also with PTI being a continuous hanging sword and always pushing for this matter, there is less and less chances of any foul play here. As you have said, one institution have appointed a person who can be termed the best man for this job. The other guy who is pro-NS may not be approved by SC in first place and on the other hand, Imran Khan will be keeping an eye on it as well.
What is also relevant here is that with two judges going a step ahead of suspension and asking for DISQUALIFICATION, the petitioners will now have a point to make and ask for NS to resign. All these things will keep the matter in limelight and more and more people will understand what have happened.
My request to you and to everyone else is just not to lose hope, not yet, PLEASE. That is EXACTLY what PMLN want you to do. Why else do you think they would be claiming this decision a victory. Even if it favors NS it is not a victory and it do not favors NS either. However PMLN went so far as to claim this as a “clean chit” and that SC have declared NS sadiq and amin (which is absolutely not the case here). The only thing they can achieve from all that propaganda is to kill the hope of the nation, to kill the energy and the issue. That is what WE SHOULD NOT allow to happen.
NS have been declared dishonest and a thief by two judges,
The remaining three have asked for further investigation (not a single judge stating him innocent)
That is what the verdict is and that is how we should take and forward it.
