Pakistan's Nuclear Submarine Development | News and Discussions

Once again the sources are crap, a blog that can not even quote the right submarine particulars, can hardly be expected to have an inside scoop on multi billion dollar deals.

i.e Qing class displaces 6628 tonnes and not 3600 tonnes

The deal was signed between Wuhan-based China State Shipbuilding Industrial Corp (CSIC) and Pakistani Government in April 2011 is for 6 Qing class submarine,These submarines will be double hulled with a submerged displacement of 3,600 tons.

ASIAN DEFENCE NEWS: Pakistan Navy To Get 6 QING Class Submarines And 2 Typ 054A FFGs From China

Do you have any source where Pakistani govt or for that matter Chinese govt is acknowledging the deal Qing class subs was inked in 2011??

Maybe for 6 Yuan class this time, the 6 Qing class are in the making.

Really?? can you be that naive?

Why naive, it is a possibility...the new Pakistani government wanted to make Pakistan an Asian Tiger in its previous mandate, they just got a new mandate to realize it.

.
Nuke sub costs anywhere from 2.2 to 2.5 billions.
Where is the money?
Show me the beef!
Pakistan is struggling to buy its PIA few jets for a lack of funds.
Have nice dreams My Pakistani friends.
But before that, SLEEP to achieve them..
Lol

It is naive because a country which does not have the finances to buy 36 J-10s, a deal which was 8 yrs in making can suddenly buy 12 submarines, plus there is no acknowledgment by pakistani govt or chinese govt of any such deal having been signed.

Are you a gullible soul to accept these filthy rich politicians?
This they do to gather required votes.
Tell me, first its supposed to be Electricity, without which no Asian Tiger in the happening.
People have 12 hours of load shedding - Way to go to become Asian Tiger, just because someone said it?
Lol

Its possible for a 450 pounder Sumo to walk the tight rope - But have you seen one?
Lol

Check this nugget from Dawn.com yesterday:

The government has made the $100 million down payments for these aircraft, but does not have sufficient funds to make additional payments,” said Gardezi, explaining the details of the $1.5 billion ‘flawed’ deal to acquire these planes.

Walk the talk!!

.
I remember the visit of Gillani to China and the signing of the deal, including 2 stealth frigates.
But politics have they own reasons that reason does not know of.

Fourteen major accidents involving submarines and warships in just 10 months could possibly paralyze Indian naval capabilities. The ambitions of becoming a strategic blue-water power, India is expending its naval crew with Russian assistance. But that seems impossible given the submarines and warships have completed 75% operational lives.Though, Pakistan lacks the expertise in naval submarines but all conventional submarines are fully operational in Pakistan's naval fleet. In case of India we have witnessed more than 10 accidents in one year. Out of 20 submarines, only 9 subs are functional in Indian naval fleet. All Russian subs have spent their 70% of lives hence Indian subs are aging that's why declining day by day.

That don't mean they can't buy new. Son, it's true that money can't buy everything BUT it's also true that it does buy MANY things....

Not till the world bank is giving loans to u.
Maybe after 2020
Don't put your money on it son.... when things change they do so fast.... remember Babur?

Then ask your government to bring its people some good clothes to wear, food to eat and also some employment opportunities which can make the country to be on the roads of success and prosperity. Rather than just focusing on defense sector it would be better to spend to social infrastructure which is worthy enough and also will help in countering the internal domestic security threats of India.
Another Indian life in the gulf, how they treatin you mate?

There always exists paradoxical impact of military developments of India on South Asian security equation. It is quite obvious that it consists of security dilemma along with dominance of tit for tat strategy. If Pakistan takes counter measures for the sake of its own statehood security than there is seemingly no wrong doing with this. India naval build up is a point of concern as its aggressive intentions towards Pakistan is an open secret. This is inherent right of every nation state to take every necessary measure against any posing threat especially, in the wake of new BJP government which openly states its hostile intentions towards next door ‘Nuclear’ neighbor.

.
With 70% of the globe covered by water, the country that wields naval power most effectively has always maintained a position of political and economic leadership. With Primary second strike capability the deterrence can be more enchased.

Pakistan’s underwater force stronger than India, India currently possesses seven to eight conventional submarines only while Pakistan has five relatively new conventional submarines to set up against the enemy in addition to six more advanced vessels it aims to obtain from China. Pakistan Navy is the first force in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) to have submarines equipped with air-independent propulsion (AIP) in the shape of three French Agosta-90B vessels. Pakistan has been forced to build its own nuclear submarine, as India launched its first indigenously built nuclear submarine Pakistani experts are capable of giving the Pakistan Navy a nuclear submarine for test.

Do check up on your sub fleet and revisit your comment again. You have 3 Agosta-70s, ancient even by our standards. Are they dangerous? Yes. Superior to IN sub fleet, Not by a long shot.

The IN posses 13 conventional SSKs btw, and 1 SSN, not 7-8 SSKs.

And you have 2 Agosta 90B, not 3. Ignorance at its peak.

Some information for you.

Three Agosta 90Bs were ordered by the Pakistan Navy in September 1994. The first, Khalid (S137), was built at DCN’s Cherbourg yard and was commissioned in 1999. The second, Saad, assembled at Karachi Naval Dockyard, was launched in August 2002 and was commissioned in December 2003. The third, Hamza, was constructed and assembled in Karachi, launched in August 2006 and commissioned in September 2008.
