PAKISTAN’S MIRAGES: SPECIALISTS ENDURING OUT OF NECESSITY

. . .
Earliest by 2022-2025 assuming 2019-2021 is block iii replacing f-7 p and PGS
PGs have some life till 2025. Mirages needs to be scrapped. BTW, does PAF planning to sell it to those scrap metals in Pakistan?

. .
F7s with 2800 total life vs mirage 8000 hour??? airframe life
OK. I got your point. But PAF is also buying SU-35s and possibily something else from EU side as well. All of this can help them to get all of the old jets phased out quickly.

I doubt there is $$ for anything else beside jf block 3 at this time ;) unless like Egypt someone else pay for it which is also not looking good as overall economy need attention not defense toys

If you look@2 a-5 and two F-7 sqn converted plus 2new sqn one NEW ccs and NEW no 28 so still long way to go
that leaves 4 f-7p/pg sqn and 6 ,mirage sqn still to go

unless another type atleast 2sqncomesafter2025 replacing some of mirages

At an average roughly 1 squadron is being replaced every 18 months. This is due to setup of infrastructure locally and number of platforms being produced. With resource constraints we cannot in my view replace more than 1 squadron every year keeping current production in mind. At this rate it will take us till 2028 to replace all the 10 squadrons. So a new platform is required. However new setup will in itself take time and money so the headache is not a simple one solved with a couple of Paracetamols.

I think there are ways to get money. Let's see what they are planning.

. .
will be used as reserves in war.

One mirage at PESHAWAR Hayatabad was sold to a
Metal dealer who supplies to paf

The dealer installed it to the township and its installed there but there is a logo of the dealer as well at the base see pic as follows

It was sold as scrap metal may be because that airframe has no life left

If the Mirages have gone passed their lifespan, then PAF should consider Qatar's Mirage 2000's which are a generation ahead and have about 15 years life in them. Unless 2nd hand F-16's are available.

Best solution was f16s but that boat has sailed due to poor poltics by zardari era and issue of OBL

Not all have past their hours and the ones from Libya only had < 3000 hours on them so still long way to go they may use their fuselage and wings

Expect another decade of mirages as
New source of spares are
There now and capability still not provided by f-16 nor jf may be in future as jf # rise capability gap will be filled
